Hello. No doubt you have all heard the crushing news of Meat Boy's Wiiware cancellation. Apparently the main problem was that the game just couldn't be confined to a 40MB file size. So anyway I was thinking, what if they just released the game split up into like 3 episodes for 500 points each? Anyone like that idea? Would you buy the game on Wiiware this way? Would you buy at least one piece of it? Put you opinion here on an episodic Meat Boy release! I want to build up a fair amount of responses here and try to use this thread as evidence to make Team Meat re-consider Meat Boy for episodic release on Wiiware. That means I need as many thumbs up as possible! C'mon people! Also feel free to put how devastated you are from this decision to further make them re-consider. We can do this guys!
@Swiket: Not really the type of response I was after......It kind of goes without saying but If you don't really care about Meat Boy's Wiiware cancellation, please don't say things like that here and make Team Meat feel they made the right decision.
Yeah, found that unfortunate quote a couple seconds ago. Perhaps if they see enough support though, they would reconsider. I mean the game IS just about done on Wiiware so chopping it up and putting it up would take nothing. i really think they could be convinced!
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Why can't you just buy one of the other versions, bboy? If you don't have a 360, just get the PC one. If my netbook can run it, whatever you've got can too.

Team Meat said they would rather kill themselves then make an episodic game during an interview. No joke. I'll try to find a link.
From a development perspective, I can understand it. Episodic gaming sucks. But from a raving gaming fanatic standpoint: YOU SUCK, TEAM MEAT! I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME ON MUH Wii!

And what sir is so annoying? That I want this game desperately for the console I mainly (and almost exclusively) game on? If you must know, yes, I have all 3 consoles and a reasonably fast PC. I just would rather not buy it on Xbox or PC because I almost never use the Xbox or my PC for gaming purposes. If it came down to it then I would probably suck it up and buy the Xbox version but I still feel it can be saved on the Wii.

Just all this drama on here over this.
All three?? Well there you go, just buy all the versions and if the Wii one ever comes out, get it too. They've all got their exclusive features that make them each well worth owning, IMO. The PC version is on sale now, grab it up before it's back to full price.

Team Meat is stubborn. The game could absolutely be done, episodic or DLC, and wouldn't be more expensive for WiiWare players. But Team Meat is stubborn.
I'd rather have a Wii version where they replace the animated cutscenes with static images and perhaps bring down the number of music tracks to cut it down to 40 MB. Would be cheaper for us and easier for them than going episodic.
Well fine! I broke down and bought the 360 version (first 360 download and I've had it for 4 years!). But that doesn't mean I don't still want a Wii version! I still think they should give Wii owners this excellent game. I may have just given them 10 bucks but still, shame on you Team Meat for shafting Wiiware! I do so hope this comes to 3DSWare! I can just imagine, every time Meat Boy dies, blood spatter flies out of the screen!!!
I, on the other hand, don't own an XBOX or PS3. I own a PC, but I don't want to go through the trouble of buying a seperate dongle so I can use my Wii controller with a game that by all rights should have appeared on Wii in the first place.
Well at least we've got Fireplacing (and a cavalcade of casual family party games and mobile phone game conversions)
