For a while now, I've also been wanting to see more of an underworld. Instead of dungeons (or instead of just dungeons) they could have a vast network of tunnels and caverns spread out beneath the entire map with several dozens of entrances hidden all over the place. When you're exploring and you find a hidden cave, you could be finding a whole lot more than just a dark room with a treasure chest. You could explore early in the game and get sneak peeks at sections of the underworld network meant to be found much later in the game. It's every dungeon and mini-dungeon and secret grotto possible all jumbled up into one great big maze.
So, Metroid elements thrown into Zelda? I'm definitely game...
Didn't we get our fill of Metroid elements in Twilight Princess? Come on, spinner slot (TP) = spinner (MP), Twilight Realm = Dark Aether, Shadow Beasts = Ing Obviously not exact, but sure is reminiscent.
No, he meant like the more opened & rewarding exploration that Metroid offered, with maybe some backtracking in the mix. Twilight Princess is opposite of this.
Precisely. The aforementioned "elements" are merely items/places/creatures from Metroid games...
I was obviously kidding guys lighten up. I don't care if they take even more inspiration from the Metroid Prime games actually, because those are great games. They're also a Nintendo franchise so they can feel free to steal any ideas from themselves that they want.

Depends on how they would be used. If the game pulled a Link To The Past twist where you had to go through three or four elemental dungeons but then find out that you had to go through eight more, I would be down with that. However, If it was just elemental dungeons and nothing else, it'd probably just demoralize me by a small amount. All-in-all, it's how they're handled.

Would you guys like the same elemental styled dungeons in the new zelda? I'm talking about the classic water, fire, forest, and desert temples. For me, I would like it if Nintendo made SOME of these types of dungeons but also have a temple where one room has lava in it and the next room is underwater.
Personally, I think Spirit Tracks perfected the dungeon formula. You still have the obligatory elemental dungeons where you get the item and use it to beat the boss, but the Tower of Spirits was challenging, unpredictable, and far less formulaic. If they could combine that dungeon setup with the classic exploration of Link to the Past, Ocarina, and Wind Waker they'd have a hell of a game.
I'm not sure I want them to take the emphasis off dungeons--the brilliant dungeon designs are always a highlight of the games.

Bunch of fantastic ideas, guys, especially Muljo's. i've ALWAYS wanted a full scale Zelda war... that would be so awesome. battling side-by-side with the hylian guards and actually seeing those guys do something other than try to catch people in the garden.
Actually, placed correctly in the timeline of Ocarina, it is possible to have a full war. In fact, (you REALLY have to pay attention to a bunch of the games) but there were a few wars in some of the games. Enough so that if done creatively, and intuitively enough, there could be an MMO on them. Sadly if that was ever made (doubtful) there would be a swarm of "LiNk1985639"'s running around fighting "GaNNondwarf69"'s I don't think I could stomach that happening to the series. I don't want a random guy who looks like link to stab me and then say "U got pwn'd!!!!!!111eleven!!!" So while I welcome the idea, and would play it, I would be very weary of it.
