Eco-Shooter Plant 530 for Wiiware reminds me of that can-shooting game featured in Hogan’s Alley for the NES.

Does anyone know if this was some sort of inspiration for Eco-Shooter?

I seriously doubt it, they have nothing to do with each other beyond shooting cans.

You’re right, what was I thinking. I just thought there would have been some sort of resemblance with Eco-Shooter and Hogan’s Alley can shoot game. I mean, shooting alien controlled cans just seems very random imo.

Anyways, can’t wait for the review! I’ve always liked rail shooters, even if sometimes they lack depth. It must be the simplicity…

I thought it had potential and I looked forward to this but sadly, I've been told the game can be completed in less than an hour.

Yep, it's pretty brief. Challenge Mode is really challenging though (funny that) -- I got within a hair of beating the final boss and ran out of juice! Still if you're a lightgun junkie (as I'm becoming) the energy gauge mechanic is sufficiently novel that you'll get some mileage out of it. 1000points is a bit steep, though -- y'all are lucky I'm a glutton for downloads!
