Topic: Earthbound Wiimake. Possible?

Well if they can't port it because of music copyright, why don't they just remake it?

I'm just asking what it would be like if it was possible.

They won't even localize Mother 3 (the game after Earthbound). So I seriously doubt it.

It stinks. Earhthbound is such a HUGE game, but I guess we'll never see it redone like it DESERVES to be.

I wouldn't count on the series getting a new installment anytime soon, however, despite music issues, Earthbound for the SNES seems likely for a VC release.

But yeah, if they ever re-release any of them or do a remake, I hope they do some sort of Mother Trilogy for the DS, you know...fancy metal box with an art booklet with the stories of all three games and a bio of Sam-, er, I mean Ninten/Ness/Lucas. lol

well the ds idea doesnt sound bad, however they still think that if they release the games of the mother series, it will have poor sales, so they prefer to not risk, personally i love the games, and completed both earthbound and mother 3, and let me say its not far they dont translate mother 3, its an awesome game

DUDE!!! It's a legendary SNES RPG, legendary for its sense of humor and references to popular culture. But since it was released late in the SNES's life, it didn't sell terribly well. But because of the abundant references to culture, it won't be released on VC. Nor will there be a remake.

You're more likely to die by a champagne cork than a poisonous spider. (No joke.) You're more likely to die from a poisonous spider than play an Earthbound remake for Wii.

I don't think the people who own the legal rights even care if people do that. You know the site starmen.net ? They have a patch that translates Mother 3 to English and nobody has come after them. Same with their music project. Whatever company owns the Mother series seems to have a "Let it be" attitude in this aspect. They are probably aware that Mother is not coming back to the West, so might as well let the westerns hype about it.

@Ramandus: Even if we never see another Earthbound installment, at least let us have Earthbound for the Virtual Console.

Hey everybody, I remember hearing that Earthbound had a strict emulation procedure in place, I checked if the area the game was being stored was like 8 mb or something like that, and if it wasn't, it made alot more enemies appear and when you got to the final boss, it deleted your save file lol, so would they still be able to put it up on VC despite this?

I emulate it perfectly on znes....and hack it easy too...heh heh....
