Why do they not put Duck Hunt or any other nes shooting games on the wii's virtual console? It would be a perfect fit for the wiimote and since you can't use the old nes light gun on flat screen tv's and they never worked great to begin with I think everybody would download it.
I think nintendo is going to make a Duck Hunt 2 because they seemed to give us a sample of it on WiiPlay.
Nintendo is too lazy to emulate a Virtual Console version of Duck Hunt with Wii Zapper or Wii Remote support. It can be done, Nintendo just does NOT want to put the time and effort into it. But if Nintendo made a Duck Hunt 2, that would be awesome if Nintendo develop it the right way.
How hard would it be for nintendo to emulate duck hunt? Ane how do you know that Nintendo does NOT want to put the effort into it? With the money that they would make I am sure it would be worth it.

Or maybe Nintendo finds no need to do so since no one will probably purchase it and they more than likely have better things to do other than put a game that a very small amount of people want on the VC/WW service.
I also friggen' hate how people(a lot on this site), say over and over how "Nintendo is lazy" when I really don't see why.

Well, I don't think Nintendo is being lazy in not releasing it. But to those of you saying nobody would donwload it, you are wrong. I guarantee it would consistently be in the top 20 if it actually did get released.
Duck Hunt is not the only game that they could release. Gun Nac, Shooting Range, Laser Invasion, Gotcha!, Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, Gum Shoe, Hogan's Alley, To The Earth, Wild Gunman, Mechanized Attack, and Freedom Force are all games that used the light gun that could be put on the virtualconsole and would sell great.

I'm not saying Nintendo is lazy in all there games. But some games could use some extra effort. Operation Wolf for example. This was originally a light gun game but got pad controls. The results. Well, read it for yourself: http://vc.nintendolife.com/reviews/2008/02/operation_wolf_vir...
Remote controls should helped this game a lot.

The NES zapper used to play Duck hunt works in a completely different way to the Wii remote. I found the following from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NES_Zapper):
When the trigger on the Zapper is pressed, the game causes the entire screen to become black for one frame. Then, on the next frame, the first target area is drawn in all white as the rest of the screen remains black. On the next frame, the next target area is drawn in white. The Zapper detects this change from low light to bright light, as well as which frame the change was detected. This is how the game knows which target has been hit. After all target areas have been illuminated, the game returns to drawing graphics as usual. The whole process is almost imperceptible to the human eye.
From what I can understand, this means you press the trigger, the screen turns black (apart from your ducks), the sensor inside your Zapper picks this up and sends the data through to the NES.
Obviously the wii remote works in conjunction with the sensor bar, and is much more sophisticated. Furthermore, your wii remote does not detect what bit of the screen you are pointing at. Nintendo probably wouldn't want to completely rewrite the original game to put it onto the VC.
Everyone seems to have missed the fact that even back then Duck Hunt pretty much sucked. Shoot the same two ducks over and over and over, oh look they are getting faster! wow...

It would be great if they could make an updated version for WiiWare with a few NES Zapper games. Like Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley and Wild Gunman. I think that would be a nice package. And maybe do with it what Lucas Arts did with Secret of Monkey Island. Easy switching between old school graphics and sounds or a version with updated graphics and audio and of course with Remote control.

Edit-It was fun back in the day, I wouldn't say amazing though. I do agree that it would probably be downloaded by quite a few people, especially because of nostalgia. I know my fiance definitely likes Duckhunt. She said that this was definatly the game we had trouble getting to work right (Freezing?)(I think we tried more than one cartridge with this game on it too) I beleve on both of our nes's (Don't recall if we had a third nes to try). So this might have been good to download because of that. I personally wouldn't mind the arcade version, so I could shoot the stupid dog when he laughs at me.
Also, has anyone played that nes game Baby Boomer? You had to protect this baby as it traveled across the screen (like shoot something down to make a bridge for the baby. That's the one part I remember)
