@ChronoCross - Dragon Warrior [or Dragon Quest, if you will] is a series of turn-based RPGs created by Enix, and which rights are owned currently by Square-Enix.
I think when DQX is coming along they'll release the DQs on the Japanese VC at least.

I am fan of the Dragon Warrior series, but I am not a big fan of the original Dragon Warrior. It is the worst of the 4 Dragon Warrior games on the Nes I played on the Nes.
I think would be great to have the Dragon Warrior series on the vc, but I wouldn't download them though. The batteries still work inside my nes cartridges and I the remakes of them for Game Boy Color and the DS.
Yeah, the first DQ was really way more primitive than it had any business being. It came out in 1986, with tons and tons of far more advanced RPGs on the market. Hell, even the original Ultima from 1982 makes it look like a joke.
From there on, it's good, though. And DQ3 and DQ4 are far less primitive than the first Final Fantasy too, for that matter.
It's always funny to see Dragon Warrior vs Final Fantasy discussions. They are different, and both have benefits and drawbacks. Personally I like Dragon Warrior a lot better now because the style of gameplay is more interesting for me.
I read somewhere that the original game was given away for free to Nintendo Power subscribers. Compared to what they did for Final Fantasy, i'd say it was a pretty good deal. I'd really like to see the games on the VC.
I like the Game Boy Color version of Dragon Warrior 1 a lot better. You don't have to grind as much since everything gives you more experience and gold.
