Would it be possible for a DOS VC channel to be released on the Wii? I think it would be awesome to play Day of the Tentacle or some of the Sierra quest games. I would even buy a Wiiboard!

Sorry, I wouldn't like it one bit.
Apple II more like it.

DOS is uhm, I know you could name games etc. and be good for you, and it's nice to know you would actually get a Wiiboard, but they don't even have that for other VC and it would be awkward and almost demeaning to even bring it to existence (DOS on VC).

Yeah, sorry, I'd rather leave those games for the actual console beasts they dwell within.
Anyone else would like to comment anyway, on this unfortunate topic?

it would be awesome! but DOS is strictly bound to microsoft. so...no chance!

but for those fine lucas arts (etc) games you wont really need DOS. just google "SCUMM VM". engine and some games come for free. even for that strange home brew channel for your very own wii. Google = get informed

Yeah I guess DOS being a Microsoft thing it'd be impossible. Anyone downloads al these old games from the internet anyway and runs them via DOSBox so i don't think it would be profitable anough anyway.

Would be cool though.

DOS really has little to do with old PC games; it's not like DOS was running in the background doing things for X-COM/UFO! DOSBox doesn't even use MS-DOS code in it and Microsoft has no trademarks relating to the acronym.

Having these old 8086/286/386 games wouldn't have anything to do with Microsoft and could easily be done. Nintendo just has to have some content to serve up.

Sean is right. MS-DOS is Microsoft's, but DOS itself can be used by essentially anyone.

Leap before you think!
