Topic: Do you use the Wii strap and/or jacket?

I've taken the strap and the jacket off my Wii Remote and just keep them stored away. I don't seem to have many games that require fast hand movements really anyway and just found them to be bulky and annoying - especially when playing it sideways.

When I don't need to hold the controller sideways, I always use the jacket; I did not like it at first, but I have gotten used to it. A naked controller feels too slippery to me now.

When I hold the Wii Remote sideways, I use the BOSS shell. (Much more comfortable.)

I only use the strap if the game requires many motions/gestures, and for the record, I always wear my seatbelt.

No I don't because I don't flap my arms around like an idiot, and I always have a firm grip on the controlers.

I leave the jackets on, and give anybody that tries to take them off the stink eye. I like the padded feel of the jackets, and after playing some serious bubble-crack (i.e. Bust-A-Move) they help keep my hands from getting stiff. The straps I attach when friends come over to play, and I make them wear it. Taking off the straps also warrants a stink eye.

I use Jacket but I use the Strap if I'm going to be Waggling something Like MM9 or VC games I don't use the Strap

I use both the jacket and the strap, but not the hideous, bulky jackets that Nintendo gave out. I bought two jackets that Nintendo made way back when the Wii first came out--a Green one (mine) and a Blue one (my brother's). Then, when I got my third Wii-mote, I bought an Orange one of the same kind, though by now they'd been modified with ridges on the sides...

I like the feel of the jacket, plus, it makes my Wii-mote look awesome (in addition to keeping it identifiable as my own). As for the strap, I've always worn it, not that I need to, but I've grown used to it by now. Plus--as others have already said--it's annoying to have it just dangling there as you play...

so many people are talking about wearing the strap just because it's dangling there. There's a simple solution; take the strap off. That's what I did. I don't want it dangling there any more than I want to wear it.

Same here. Using it with the Motion Plus attachment made sense after whacking another part of my anatomy doing the Wii Fit boxing I decided it was worth getting used to them. My NA Wii and one of my Japanese Wii Remotes lack Jackets, but that's okay because it means I can slip the Motion Plus condom on them without a lot of bother -- if I ever have Motion Plus games on those systems...

I don't use the Jackets anymore, they took the paint of some of my wii remotes.

Cringing is really fun.

I wear the strap and use the jacket, absolutely. I've got no problem with either. Don't really understand why anyone would, but respect that....

I did not like the remote jacket so I do not use it. The naked Wiimote works the same without it. I do not like the wrist straps. I threw the original wrist strap away. I left it on my second Wiimote in case a friend or someone would want to use one with it.

i was using the jacket and strap for a while after buying my wii, just because they were there. i got an induction charger so taking the jacket on and off wouldn't be an issue, but because the remote charges better without it i've kept it off. the remote feels a little too slick without the jacket, but the size feels just right and once you play long enough to build up some sweat it grips well. most wii games only require waggle anyway, which just takes a slight flick of the wrist so you're not too likely to hit something.

the jacket may make the remote a little too big and clumsy feeling, but the grip is definitely better and i wouldn't dare play a motion+ game where you actually are swinging it around a lot without it. the motion+ actually has a danger of coming unplugged without the jacket as well, so you really shouldn't try using it without the sleeve.

I really like the jacket only after using a wiimote with it on at a party. After that I have the jacket on and it feels more comfortable in my hand.

My Wiimote's are unprotected.
I never liked the rubber covers (the feel odd and its annoying taking them off to put in new batteries) or the straps and I have never actually let go OR dropped a Wiiremote during a game of wii sports or zelda etc,
which is pretty amazing considering i got my Wii on its release.

I use the wrist straps for motion-controlled games like Wii Sports or EA Sports Active. I don't bother when I'm playing other games. So far I haven't taken a liking to the jacket at all.
