Topic: Dead Space Extraction

I was surprised not to find a thread for this already (though that could be a limitation of the nascent search function).

Anyway, I got notified by GAME today that this is being released on 25 September as opposed to late October. Anyone else jazzed?

Wow, really? That is awesome news Sean! I can't believe that it is being released so soon. I really enjoyed the first Dead Space game so I'm really hoping that this one turns out well. Thank you for posting this!

Several good games competing for drunken Halloween co-op this year.

I suspect it's because Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles got its release date brought forward to this year (October I think?) and they didn't want to come out at the same time -- weird to have games getting earlier release dates that's for sure!

Certainly buying this one. Just been watching some vids for it and my anticipation-o-meter has gone off the charts!! I think even people who aren't convinced by on-rails play will perhaps be swayed by this one. Can't wait

In 3 weeks!? Now that is a pleasant surprise. I never played the original as my video card sufficed but didn't excel, I was desperate to play though as it sounds like my kinda game (I <3 Sci-Fi). I got the phat new video card, but held off having heard news of prequel, and wanted to play that first obviously. Yay!

As an aside, too many games maaan! like that's a bad thing

I haven't played the original Dead Space, so I don't know much about the universe it's set in, but it certainly looks like it could be intense and creepy. Unless it's spectacular though, I'll have to rent, as there's already way to many games coming this fall, and Darkside Chronicles is a must buy for me.

I would like to give it a try.

Resident Evil comes out November 17th in the US (just in time to compete with Mario, lol). Silent Hill misses it's Halloween date by three days.

As for dead space, I hope it sales very well as it is one of only two great Wii games from EA imo including Boom Blox Bash Party (MySims and Spore Hero are pretty good but nothing special). I've heard mostly good things from the insatiable online community and even PS3/360 owners. If this game doesn't sell well, and by well I mean at least 300,000 first month as I'm giving it the benefit of a sales curve, then I truly don't know what's wrong with the Wii audience.
