Didn't he write a number of Wii reviews when he was on the Nintendo team? Wouldn't those types of feelings about the Wii tend to make it difficult to write a fair review?

I'll never understand why people feel this need to bash a game system. Seems pointless to me. They all have good and bad aspects, and that's generally true of every game system that comes out. But if the guy thinks the Wii is "stupid" then he has every right to do so.
He doesn't have the right to review Mario vs. Donkey Kong. You can tell that he didn't even play the game, anyway (e.g. he said that collecting gold stars is pointless and there's only around 40 new levels).
He reviewed it officially and said that there are only 40 levels?? I know that IGN's collective journalistic integrity and intelligence is miniscule, but I'll still amazed that they'd publish an article with such a fundamental error. (I would check it out on their site to see just how bad it is, but I refuse to give them a bit of traffic).
Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense. Wii FC: 8378 9716 1696 8633 || "How can mushrooms give you extra life? Get the green ones." -
All the upcoming Wii games are "dumb" and the console is "stupid"?
Yes, I'm glad this guy was reviewing Wii games.
Yes, IGN was so dumb that they took him off the Nintendo team.
Huh?
What does that have to do with what I posted?
You're calling IGN a joke, and they took off the guy that was dissing Wii about a month ago anyway. I don't see how your post makes any sense - are you saying a person can't express his dislike for another system when he's not even on its team?
I think as a video game journalist, you have to be careful what you say. You can think whatever you want to, but when you start spouting it out, especially if it conflicts with the very games and consoles you cover, it can seriously hurt your credibility.
You think all those anti-Wii thoughts started AFTER he was off the team?
I'm not sure what's so hard to grasp here.

I see what Corbie says. And no, I'm not saying those thoughts are recent - but does that mean he expressed them openly during his Nintendo job? How does IGN know what's going on his brain? Either:
1) They found out he hated the Wii and thus took him off the Nintendo team, or 2) He asked to be taken off for the reasons he stated in the podcast.
