Topic: Cricket Wii

Americans play cricket (according to Wikipedia, there's all kinds of countries that play cricket that you just wouldn't expect - there's like, 70 of them), and the English try to, so Cricket is a world game.

Cricket Wii is.... kinda worth it. It's a bit of a waggle game, unfortunately, but it is responsive, and while the graphics are a bit off (missing quite a few frames of animation at times - things get very jerky), it plays a good game of cricket.

Chalk this up to one of the "worth buying" games if you're a fan of the sport. It won't appeal to you if you're not, though.

It's just a pity there's only the big international teams selectable. It would have been awesome to have the Iranian national cricket team (yes, there is one) take on Australia.

True, some of us in the US do like Cricket. I was only introduced to it because I directed a documentary about Cricket in the US a couple years back, and I was hooked, but I still never got good enough to get anywhere and there aren't any pitches here to play on anyway (no one plays it so it'd be essentially like ruining a perfectly good football or American football field by sticking a pitch in the middle.)
Anyway, with that said I'd love to play a game of it on Wii but if you mean Ashes Cricket 09' it's not released here and probably won't ever be despite the loads of Indian/Pakistani/ west Indian fans here who would buy it in droves. Theres always "Big Beach" sports, which has a Cricket game built in, but doesn't look too great otherwise so Im not sure I'll take the chance on it.

The USA where actually the hosts of the first ever cricket tour as far as im aware. An England XI toured the US, playing teams in philadelphia and Chicago and of course the national side. In recent times the USA have fallen into the background, but they are still ICC associates ( the best teams after the 10 test teams). I would have loved to have mathces like Ireland vs Denmark and Iran vs Australia. Even Germany vs India would have been nice.

I'm sorry, but the only series of cricket that counts is the Ashes.
