Obviously, I could see a major problem with corded Wii remotes, it kind of defeats the purpose of owning a Wii in the first place for some people...The cord would run on the end of the Wii Remote and be connected directly onto the Wii via those gamecube controller slots, the cord would be connected to where the nunchuck is plugged in on the Wii remote. My brother thinks its a good idea,(mainly because he hates going to Walmart to buy more batteries) so he ran a survey at his school, asking 20 random people on the school campus on whether they would like the idea of a corded Wii remote (he's in a TV productions class).... The results were suprising, about 50% of people wanted a corded Wii remote?! WHY!? I think its a horrid idea, seriously, thats what virtual console controllers/gamecube controllers and Nunchucks are for! Lol, I could imagine people tripping on cords while playing Just Dance! So whats your opinion on corded Wii remotes?
actually I can imagine people swinging the controller and the Wii flying off onto the floor >:3
Edit: Really though, corded is a horribly stupid idea, especially for the Wiimote. They should take the DS3's approach and have a rechargeable battery built in.
Thanks guys, I'll go break the dissapointing news to my bro.
@Machu Thanks for the advice but we already bought new rechargable batteries, the problem is that those rechargable batteries last about 1 hour! (and thier from Duracell!) I'll go slap my brother now...
This is like when Ali G invented the mobile phone for the house (cell phone tethered to a jack in the wall). The people who are tired of buying batteries? There's this thing called a recharger. For $15 you can get it with a set of precharged batteries. Done. No more trips to the store. What are they teaching in that school?
@ChiyoKat: Don´t shop rechargeable batteries by brand. Watch the mAh. Go for as high as possible. A pair of 2700mAh batteries should last plenty of hours. They last for days for me. An alternative would be a cord to a giant batterypack.
Since nobody can make a Classic Controller compatable controller that plugs into the GameCube Controller ports, I don't think this is even possible.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
What B Rex said. It can't happen since the GameCube slots will only work for games that support GC controllers. I don't really see the point of this thread.
I've got energizer rechargeable batteries and I've only recharged them about once a week if I've been playing non stop. And a wired wii remote would only work if we played no more than 10 feet from the system with a 20 foot cord.
