So this was mentioned to me by Tails86 last night, and being the videogame tester that I am... I have discovered this will freeze your game EVERY TIME!
So, if you are doing well on the first level and have the highest multiplier (Mega, i believe) and then use your bomb on the two rainbow-blocks that scroll in from left to right on the bottom of the screen when they intersect. And viola! FAILURE!!!
As a tester for a 3rd part MS QA company, I'm really disappointed in Nintendo/Gaijin that any game would release with bugs this bad. I refuse to play it until there is a patch... Because I'm sure there is more than just that one occurence that will cause hard-locks later in the game.
I might test this glitch out for myself. Nintendo and Gaijin should be ashamed of themselves. Oh Chatham, I told Corbie about the glitch. Corbie is going to contact Gaijin.
Yeah, I barely discovered this bug last night. I contacted Corbie and he verified the existence of the bug when he played it. He told me that he sent an email to Alex of Gaijin Games regarding this problem. I hope we get some kind of fix for this soon. I still love the game but for now I'm not going to be using bombs anymore.
The first time I used the bomb I was just messing around. I hadn't used the bombs at all up until that point so I decided to try them out. Too bad I chose the wrong place to use them.
@Adam Sure, they aren't meant to be hit with the bomb... But hard-locking my Wii is definitely not supposed to happen.
I'm a game tester, I really get pissed when I see careless mistakes like this... 2 out of 2 Gaijin WiiWare games have an unfixed bug now (save files do not count as a "fix" for the US Beat). If this continues, I'm staying away from future Bit.Trip games.
Well I'm glad I'm not a video game tester then, since apparently if you are then the mere existence of a bug that very few people are ever going to run into by accident is enough to kill your enjoyment of an entire series of fantastic games.

This is what we call a "game killing bug" in the testing industry... One that can very well break your console! It's not a random occurence, and the devs have made mistakes more than once. I love the Bit.Trip games! But I'd rather wait an extra month for the testers to make sure the game works as it should before they release another broken game... Right now, they should focus on going back and fixing the bugs in the games they already have out. They fixed the Bit.Trip Beat bug in the UK, so what's the issue with patching the US version?! Playing through the game and posting the save file isn't a fix.
Rant cut short... I'm only buying the next Bit.Trip if Gaijin won't at least patch the major issue in CORE.
No this is a BIT.TRIP CORE bug. It involves using the Bomb just before a transition. Locks the console up. No buttons on the console or controllers will work. You have to unplug or remove power from the Wii console completely in order to reset the system.
