Yeah, I'm just really hoping Gaijin actually does something to fix this. The last "fix" they gave us was a lazily made save file! Wow, were you really that lazy that you couldn't recode the saving system on the US version of Beat?!
Now as for the CORE bug, something HAS to be done about that. They can't just "save file" a hard-lock away... I love this game, but I really don't want to touch it again until it's patched.
@Corbie I know Gaijin knows, SS1990 e-mailed this to you last night after I confirmed it happens every time! Figured you'd pass it on to Gaijin. I called NOA and let them know to, as they are responsible for all content on the WiiShop and it's QA/Compat testing. I just can't believe Aerotek would miss something like this (3rd party company contracted by NOA for testing, used to work for them).
Well I'm glad I'm not a video game tester then, since apparently if you are then the mere existence of a bug that very few people are ever going to run into by accident is enough to kill your enjoyment of an entire series of fantastic games.
I think this is the best thing that has been said so far.
Alex at Gaijin Games has said they're figuring out what to do right now. So we should know soon. There's nothing that can be done in the meantime. Thanks to everyone who brought this bug to our attention.
I sent the information to them via Twitter (Oblong_cheerio) earlier today, so I think I did my part there. Of course, if they can't fix it, I won't hate them for it. It's not like it will kill us if it crashes on occasion, but it is understandable. As for Nintendo not picking up the problem, QA is not just Nintendo, from what I recall. It might also be part of Axsys Games' responsibilities as publisher, too.
@O-Watt Part of testing is the responsibility of the dev company during development, but every title that is released on a companies servers for download goes through certain QA check before release to check for "game killing bugs" that send the title back to the dev for more work (or in the MS case, release it anyways and patch it later). There's not a really good excuse for any kind of bug like this in a release though... Unless development was totally rushed, which judging by the speed of Gaijin's releases is probably the case.
@Corbie & Everyone in General I still love Bit.Trip CORE, it's an amazing concept and an amazing title... But this needs to be patched. We've all seen VC games get "update" patches in the past, so we all know it's possible. I have faith this will be fixed shortly. This bug also shouldn't prevent anyone from missing what is IMO one of the best WiiWare games available. Just stay away from the bomb button until we hear of a patch, it's for noobs anyways!
PS to all: This is Chatham and AnneMarie speaking for this. We actually met through a game testing job for MS!

Nintendo's policies in regards to updates/patches make it difficult and/or costly to provide a direct patch/update to currently available software. I'm not making excuses for Gaijin Games - how many times is this going to happen? - but the save file fix may have been the only solution afforded to them. I really hope this new glitch is addressed publically (and that the article doesn't mysteriously disappear this time).
The last article didn't mysteriously disappear. I didn't like it so I deleted it. Simple as that. And if I end up not liking this new one, it's history too.
@Corbie You just didn't want it to be true... Did you Corbie,,,

Don't you think it's poor form to do so? If Alex and Gaijin don't want bad publicity then they should go through more rigorous bug-testing. It's unfortunate that both of their games have featured game-breaking glitches but they have no-one to blame for that but themselves. People deserve to be informed.

I'm not going to go into the specifics of who's responsibility it is to bug test, but we here at Nintendo Life had to make a judgement call and we did. We weren't trying to "hide" information from anyone, we were just trying to use some discretion in our coverage. There are certain delicate politics between game developers and publishers that have to be taken into account at times.
I don't think nintendo has in place any kind of patching system but I think they could just put up a whole new fixed version and have you re download the game.
I'm pretty sure I found another one, but maybe its just my Wii. I was playing the second level. I was doing bad right before the 4th or 5th transition, so I fell into nether. Then, after a hit the transformation bits (with the laser, not bomb) the game just froze. This has happened two times so far.
