Metacritic and GameRanking scores are pretty useless for WiiWare games, since hardly any of them get a decent number of reviews. Even the Nintendo Life scores by themselves would work better, in my opinion.
By the way, what exactly is the Arcade genre when it doesn't overlap with other genres, Pinball, Pac-man, and Breakout clones? Also, I recommend Sports and Other Shooters categories, and can we please have some kind of Heavy Action category for those action games that aren't (mainly) shooters or platformers and don't involve a lot of adventuring?
Anyway: Jett Rocket Best Platformer Water Warfare Best FPS Pearl Harbor Trilogy: Episode I: Red Sun Rising Best Other Shooter Rage of the Gladiator Best Heavy Action Cave Story Best Action/Adventure Military Madness: Nectaris Best Strategy HoopWorld Best Sports TV Show King 2 Best Party

Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Best Platformer: Mega Man 9 Best Other Shooter: Contra ReBirth Best Action/Adventure: Cave Story Best Party: Driift Mania Best Music: BIT.TRIP RUNNER & lilt line Best Arcade: Bubble Bobble Plus

If you consider Bit.Trip RUNNER a platformer, that's my platformer of choice. Onslaught as best FPS. I think that might change once Protocol is out. I like the first episode of Strong Bad more than the second, so that gets my vote for Adventure game. I'm not an RPG kinda guy, but Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is probably pretty neat. Not really a simulation guy, but the closest I can give you is Pearl Harbor Trilogy Red Rising Sun. Not a strategy fan either, but Monsteca Corral gets my vote over Space Invaders: Get Even!. They're both pretty non-traditional, though, which I like. Puzzle is a bad term, IMO, since there isn't an intended solution for a block-dropping game like Tetris (which most would consider 'Puzzle') so I'd like to break this one into the two that it usually contains; real Puzzle games, and Block Dropping/Matching. Do with my votes what you will. My pick for best puzzle game is Art of Balance. My pick for best block dropping/matching game is Magnetis. There aren't many music games on the platform, so I'll include rhythm and dancing, and vote for Helix. Party game is kinda tough. I don't buy those kind of WiiWare games because I'm not around the right kind of people that often (and when I am, it's just easier to get them playing a Wii Sports Resort or a Mario Kart over something they know nothing about), but I guess I'll throw in a vote for Muscle March since I've played it and I've heard of a couple of people having a fun time showing it to friends.
I'm not really sure what you mean by "Arcade". Maboshi's Arcade is pretty good, but I only name it because it has "arcade" in the title.
I don't think something like Pearl Harbor is what he means by simulator. I think it means stuff like My Aquarium or the Sims series (if it was on WiiWare).
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?

Closest thing I played. It's a simulation of the Battle(s) of Pearl Harbor. You fly and shoot period air-craft with period weapons. No fancy laser guns or grappling beams shot out of a Wright Bros. creation. Pretty sim-y to me.
The gameplay decides the genre, not the setting. You're not directly creating or modifying the simulation, you're shooting in it, therefore it's much better classed as a shooter (or at least "flight combat") than a simulator.

Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Best FPS- Onslaught. Despite some control issues and repetitive enemies, it's pretty solid for a mere ten bucks. Best Action/Adventure- Cave Story. Instant classic with its Metroid-inspired gameplay. Best Other Shooter- Pearl Harbor Red Sun Rising. Sure, its difficulty is really whacked-out, but the quality is just incredible for 7 bucks. Best Platformer- Dive The Medes Islands Secret. While I do consider Cave Story a platformer, and a better one than Dive, Dive still has its shining moments, from its great soundtrack to its relaxing, immersive gameplay.
@bulbarsaur rex yes thats what i meant by arcade I have now added multiplayer and overall cheapest and best wiiware game @Gamesake its up to you I thought it would help people decided easier

In the music genre, pretty much all the Bit.Trip games can be nominated. BIT.TRIP RUNNER still gets my vote there, but the others should probably be nominated. RUNNER also gets my vote for platformer (providing it counts, which it's listed there, so yeah). Cave Story gets my vote for Action-Adventure. I don't know if it's much of an RPG but if it is it gets my vote there as well. I'd have to think about puzzle, and I don't think I can comment on anything else. Also, Fluidity should be nominated for platformer.

Flowerworks is actually 1000 points in the U.S.....I know they dropped the price for the European release, but..... Another title like that which I would give a recommendation for best value is The Magic Obelisk which got a 500 point price drop from the Japanese release.
