Hey, so I've recently gotten back into platforming on my Wii (thank you NSMB!), went out and picked up Klonoa and Wario Land. I'm planning on snagging A Boy and his Blob and Muramasa as well, but is there anything I'm missing? I'd like to steer away from Virtual Console recommendations, butI've heard great things about Lostwinds, so I'd be open to some WiiWare title suggestions as well.
How about Sonic Unleashed? Although the night levels aren't as good, they're not too bad, and the game is worth it for the day levels alone.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Deadly Creatures, Lost Winds 1 and 2...What's that other Wiiware one? I played the demo and I enjoyed it. You play as a god or something. EDIT: Deadly Creatures is not Wiiware.
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
Your missing Mario Galaxy--the best platformer of all time (imo). Get that at all costs, then check out de Blob, and if you're into Sonic check out Sonic and the Secret Rings--Unleashed is solid, but you have to put up with the wherehog levels.
EDIT: Holy **** you don't have New Super Mario Bros. Wii! If you're into old-school platforming (and judging by the games you listed, I'm guessing you are) this is an absolute must-play. We're talking one of the best 2-D sidescrollers ever good.
Sweet, thanks! I do have Galaxy and really liked it, but I remember back in the 64 days there seemed to be a lot more quality 3D platformers. Maybe just a sign of the times, but are there any for the Wii out side of de Blob and Galaxy that are worth the $? Are the Sonic games like Adventure 1/2? I played them for the GC and didn't really dig 'em.

Your next stop should be New Super Mario Bros Wii, without question. Best 2-D Mario ever, in my opinion. As for Sonic, no, Unleashed, Secret Rings, and Black Knight are nothing like Sonic Adventure 1/2. I wasn't really a fan of the Adventure games but I had a blast with Secret Rings (watch some gameplay before you buy it, it's pretty different) and Unleashed was surprisingly fun. I haven't played Black Knight but apparently it has really repetitive waggle-based combat.

@Kid_A: If you'd read the opening post more closely, you'd see that he's already played NSMBWii...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
Seriously though, nice choices Klonoa and Wario land Shake it! are phenomenal titles, and of course so is Super Mario galaxy. Personally I'd skip Deadly Creatures...It's repetitive, boring, mediocre and complete trash in comparison to those other games you mentioned...Also, you should definitly pick up A boy and his Blob...I havent played it myself, but it looks great and it's beengetting stellar reviews overall. And if you've played the original back in the day(like i did) you'll have that nostalgiac connection and you'll appreciate it even more.
but ya, you have to get LostWinds and LostWinds2. I loved LostWinds and it kept getting better and better the more you progressed through the game. it's a whimiscal little fun title and makes great use of the Wii remote. I still need to get the second which apperantly is even better.
But most importantly, you NEED Mega Man 9....I guess it's more an Action/Platformer but it still counts if you ask me. One of my favorites for the Wii and nothing gets me more pumped than mega man. it's my favorite franchise of all time, and 10 is on the way in a month! It's definitly a good time to be a Retro gamer!
Anyways, here's a list for ya including the ones you already have ;')
Wario Land Shake it! Super Mario Galaxy Klonoa Mega Man 9 Super Paper Mario A Boy & his Blob Castlevania the Adventure: Rebirth LostWinds LostWinds 2
PS: NSMBWii is overrated....I'm gonna make this short....It's uncreative, has a bland presentation, there's no intensity or real challenge because of the crazy amounts of 1-Ups that are thrown at you as if you're getting candy on Hallloween(that goes for the Power ups as well!), it makes going to the mushroom houses pointless, collecting coins even feels pointless....before in past mario games you'd try and srounge up EVERY coin you could just to get that extra 1-Up you so desperatly needed, Multiplayer modes sucks, where was the awesome Vs mode found in the DS version? As for the main games multiplayer it can be fun or frusturating, things get too crazy when there's more than 2 people playing. But really, nothing beats single player....
On the flip side it's still fun, has the best 2D Mario controls period,(especially that extra spin you can do in the air to get that extra second of air for landing) the motion controls are great, getting the star coins ups the fun, the Koopa kids are back and World 9 is tough as nails, the game is still pretty yet very basic(bowsers World looks purrtyy especially...nice lava effects), some of the level design is fantastic....but what's the deal with Yoshi? he must of been a last minute thaught because for the most part he was totaly underutilised
I was actually gonna make this thread myself, but I forgot about it(along with a zillion other thread ideas ) So far the only one I have to recommend is Sonic & the Secret Rings.

Finally, someone who agrees with me.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Secret Rings is OK, but the on-rails tilt control isn't as good as traditional Sonic platforming (for one thing, it's really hard to back up if you miss something), and the jumping system is pretty mediocre. The day levels in Unleashed are much better. Overall, I'd rate Unleashed as a little better than Secret Rings, especially if you're a fan of the beat-'em-up genre to better enjoy the night levels.
Am I the only one who thinks the camera in Super Mario Galaxy is terrible? It would be much better if it would follow behind Mario at the same angle all the time, instead of changing its angle depending on where you move so that Mario is sideways or upside-down half the time. Manual camera movement doesn't work very well, either. Whenever I bring up this issue, nobody responds to it. Do you guys agree or disagree with me about the camera in SMG?
