I'll agree, I don't care for WWII style game either, and MP3 didn't have a lot of action, which was it's only negative point. I am hoping and waiting for NPC MP1 since it had a lot more action and difficulty. Also, I've been reading that Redsteel 2 is supposed to be much better, but of course we'll have to wait for that.
Call of Duty: Black Ops would have to be my choice because it's the most fun. It has a very addictive online multiplayer, many ways for you to customize your avatar, and a variety of play modes. Despite the lame single player campaign I still got more out of Black Ops.
I think most people recommend Golden Eye because it's a Wii exclusive (and because many already bought Black Ops on Xbox 360 and PS3). Golden Eye does have better level design, a cool golden Classic Controller Pro, plus local multiplayer. However, I found it hard to see anything in the dark and I'm too familiar with the GE story for the solo campaign to be very rewarding. The online multiplayer was really good but I got bored of waiting to unlock the upgrades. GE levels you up too slow, making it feel like a chore trying to get new gear.
Of course, The Conduit 2 could beat out both of those games on the Wii when it comes to graphics and the single player campaign. Although, I doubt it will be more fun online than Black Ops or have better controls than Golden Eye.
I don't understand the complaints about the darkness in Goldeneye. Turn the brightness up, yo. It's that easy.
I've turned the brightness up on the game and on my TV, doesn't help :/ Enemies online seem to blend in with darker areas (especially in the sewers and certain parts of the jungle)
Red Steel 2 is freaking amazing. People complain about it getting repetitive, but, honestly, I never tired of it. As long as you mix up the way you go about things, there are enough ways to approach an encounter that it stays fresh. It's just whether or not you want to. Personally, I wouldn't feel like a very cool samurai-cowboy if I only used one combo to kill every enemy, and would have no fun with it, so I tried to have fun with it, and haven't been so immersed in a game for a long time.

I've never really noticed. I guess it depends on your TV. I don't like when games are so dark it muddles everything (ahem*DOOM3*ahem) so I would have noticed if it was dark, and I have probably already turned up the settings, but I don't remember. Anyway, Goldeneye has my vote for best FPS.
Tough decision, but I'd have to get a very slight advantage to Goldeneye with The Conduit coming in a very close second. After that, definitely the Metroid Prime series (Series = the trilogy collectors editon). I bought Red Steel on day one with the Wii and really enjoyed it. Sure, the story and controls were not up to par, but overall the game was a lot of fun... and well, fun is the number one factor of any video game for me. I've never had the chance to play Red Steel 2. I need to but I also need to beat Red Steel 1. I kept getting stuck in Red Steel 1 and the game would freeze up in this place constantly so I quit. Glad to see others enjoyed Red Steel though. I've never played any of the Call of Duty games on the Wii -- only PC, 360, and PS3.
Oh, and relating to the darkness issue with Goldeneye, I never had a problem with the game being dark. I have a 52" Sony Bravia LCD and I've never had to adjust the brightness settings once. I'm using component with the Wii.
Personally, I have to say Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex. I was more engrossed with the modern-era theme than the time period in Black Ops. Goldeneye is a close 2nd, only because the campaign was pretty fun.
