Rayman 2 is one of my my favorite games of all time, and probably tied with Super Mario 64 as my fave N64 game.
Rayman 3 was a bit "meh" for gamecube, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Rayman Origins looks really cool...I'll def be picking this up. I'm still not sure whether to get it for Wii or PS3. Any really big differences between the two?

The Sprites were made with 1080p in mind. (its even pushing that on the 360). I was playing the Demo this Morning and someone asked me why I was watching cartoons.

What in the hell is wrong with watching cartoons? Hell that's all i mainly watch whenever i blast on the tube(which is rare to begin with in this day age) Cartoons are colorful, out of this world and surreal(or can be).....I hate the type of close minded immature clueless people that say cartoons are for kids, they're the same type of people who just sit on their butt and watch the devestatingly depressing, boring and lifeless news channel all day...THAT or reality TV which is sure enough to rott your brain 10x.

But, i'm also an artist and i always draw cartoons. Thank god I'm a kid at heart, cartoons bring me too much joy, in the midst of this drab and bland world we live in.

I was using that to talk how clean and fluid the animation was. > = (

Picking it and Mario 3D land next week .

Has the Ubiart Framework been released to the public.

Here is some gameplay from the Wii: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=webHC4lRN1c

Looks great, the music is surprisingly above average. I don't really think the Wii version loses any visual quality compared to the "all-superior HD systems."

I'm not sure how to feel. On one hand it still looks good but on the other the Hand Drawn sprites (?) looks amazing in HD.

Funny thing according to someone on Gaf who's playing this game with a Underwater Mammal The Wii Version still comes with the 1080p assets.

I certainly buy it if I can get it next week! Graphically it looks awesome, and while it all may be a little bit to silly for my taste it still could be a fun platformer. It gets great reviews, so I totally get it!

Tried out the demo, and it looks to be quite a fun platformer, So I'll definitely be picking it up at some point (PS3 version).

Hand Drawn sprites (?)

I don't think they're hand drawn, looks like vectorized, Flash graphics... the animation feels very different from Wario Land or Muramasa... still gorgeous tough -specially on HD-

In a Nintendo Power interview it is mentioned that the graphics engine is able to directly import drawings into the game, overcoming previous barriers between hand-drawn characters and backgrounds and graphics engines.

Picked this up yesterday, and as a huge fan of Rayman 1 and 2, it definitely delivers. The art style and music are fantastic, and it's just pure fun. However, I was sort of hoping that this game would clear up some questions on the series, but it only seems to create more.

For one, the Teensies. Rayman meets the Teensies in The Great Escape, so how could they be in Origins?

Secondly, Bubble Dreamer and Polokus. Are they the same person? They are both the creators of Rayman's world, and have to do with dreaming, but they are both so different in appearance and name that I'm not positive.

Thirdly, the manual for Origins explains Rayman's conception, and why he is limbless. However, in Rayman 1, all of the inhabitants of Rayman's world are limbless: Moskito, the Magician, Mr. Dark, all of the enemies and bosses, Tarayzan, and even Betilla. However, Rayman is the sole limbless person in Origins, the prequel. Why would Betilla lose limbs from Origins to 1? This also brings up another point: what of the other Rayman-esque characters in 1 that aren't there in Origins or The Great Escape?

I'm only in world 2 so maybe some of these things are cleared up, but right now I really feel we need a game that takes place between 1 and 2, or at least an opportunity to ask Michel Ancel some serious questions. Or maybe I should just stop poking holes.

Edit: After reading the Origins article on Wikipedia, apparently the whole origin story aspect (hence the name Origins) was scrapped, and Origins is now considered a spin-off. :/ That's fairly disappointing.

Wasn't looking to get this game but couldn't pass it up for 20$ the other day. I've mostly just watched my son play the game and help him through the hard parts but I think I like this more then new super Mario bros Wii! Nice level design and beautiful graphics! Can't wait to get into this a little bit more.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

Klonoa and maybe Super Paper Mario.

(Klonoa is one of those games I point out that is completely seriously a much better story than most JRPGs or other current gen titles with a popular story)

I bought Rayman Origins a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I don't have my Wii with me in the USA, so I just got it shipped to family in Australia. Gonna take me a while to get to play it!

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
