Ill download it later and post in the excitebike topic with my code later on today. I might be able to get one other to race with us. Do you use Skype splat? Its what us goldeneye players have been using for voice chat or just to chat a little easier. If you could I would like to voice chat since its much easier that way.

Okay, so offline I have simply been using a sword and shield...and to be honest I kinda like that. When I was online last night I upgraded my sword and now am just carrying a sword (great sword I think). Can I go back to using a sword and shield? Do I do that offline? Do I simply have to buy a new sword?
You can't physically upgrade your sword and shield for the great sword you would have to buy it. If you look in your inventory as long as you didnt sell it it should still be there. If you have the right materials you should then be able to upgrade it. Just to let you know the sword and shields are the weakest weapons in the game but hit a lot more. Experiment with a few other and you will be taking massive amounts of hit points off with just a few hits. Sword and shield are good for status effect though. Some of the weapons have well over 1000 attack points when fully leveled up but you wont see that for a long while.

No sorry don't have Skype I wish more games had a chat like MHT. I can have me PC and Wii hooked up at the same time now tho.
@MERG - It's been so long that I don't remember when you can get the switch axe offline but I know you can. It is by far my favorite weapon.
Well look into it if you can. I use my phone with Skype but not sure if that's an option for you or not. I also don't remember when the switch ax comes into play.

@Tech - If you do get EB there are two control options one is the "classic" control scheme and the other is the "normal" control scheme. I prefer and recommend the classic if you played the first EB on the NES the only difference is instead of taping a button to get up after a wreak you shake the remote.
Don't want to turn this in to a EB thread just wanted you to know that.
The great sword is really tough to get a feel for. You kinda need to know how monsters behave and get a sense of the timing down. Its awesome power is so worth it though!
You get the switchaxe at a certain point offline... I can't remember when, but it's definitely obtainable offline.
Do (or did) any of you switch what weapons you use depending on the quest your on? I am playing offline and using a great sword (bone blade) but noticed when I was in a pack of small/medium monsters that I just wasn't fast enough.
I very rarely switched weapons. Each weapon for the most part has one move that will get rid of those pesky group of monsters. I use great sword probably only for the first 250 hours I play the game. It wasn't till much later did I start experimenting with different weapons. Then when I switch I just used that one for a good while. It takes a good 3 to 4 hours to get totally use to a new weapon. That also depends on the monster you are fighting. Sometimes one hit with the great sword or hammer is equal to 5-6 hit from a sword and shield. The long sword is probably considered one if not the best by most because of its power to speed ratio. It also charges its power so if you can keep it charged it pretty powerful. Just my thoughts!
Nice avatar jayarr! Listen to him MERG he is the expert in this game. Don't think anyone except maybe ray which I never see post here anymore has more experience playing. This game. And to some extent trolling people from here lol!
I pretty much use the switchaxe 90% of the time and the long sword the other 10%. It's really up to the player what you feel comfortable with. I just never got the hang of the great sword they are very power full but I just don't like the way they swing but blocking is a plus.
If you really want a challenge use the lance. Jayarr is the expert with it but I never really like it much. If you haven't yet bowgun is a whole new ballgame. Its like playing a totally different game.
