I just started playing the game, and I have two major questions:
1. Is there any way to make the font bigger? I still use a medium-sized SD tv, and the words come up a little small. and 2. Are the DLC quests still going? I recall the developer saying they were going to have a bunch of DLC's on a reel so if you miss one you get another chance later. Also, how do you get them? Do you have to beat the game to begin downloading them, or is there some point where you start, or can you get them from the beginning and I just don't know how?
I am the TrueWiiMaster! Those who call the Wii casual BEWARE!
1. Nope, no way to make it bigger, and it only gets clearer on an HDTV. Sorry!
2. I think they're still repeating, but the best way to find out is to go into the City (online mode) and go see the lady at the guild. She'll have a list of currently available quests — you want "Event Quests" — which are online only. You don't download them and play them offline, you play them while connected to the 'net, either on your own or (much better) with other hunters.
With the possibility of a portable Monster Hunter getting me excited I realize I never played Monster Hunter Tri and I have a couple of questions...with Monster Hunter Tri is there local multiplayer or is it only online multiplayer. Also, why is it rated "T". Is there a lot of gore? Is it really inappropriate for someone younger than a teen?
@MERG: MHT doesn't allow to go on normal quests with local multi, but you can hunt a monster with two people in the arena mode. As for the 'T' rating, you are a hunter who has giant swords which you try to kill (usually) big monsters with, every hit having completely fake looking blood which looks more like an exploding effect than blood really. You carve the monster when you kill it, getting parts of it that you use to make armor/weapons but nothing too gory.
Thanks for the info Zez...hmmm, now I'm not sure this would be a good idea. I know if I got it my son would be all over me to play it. While I am strict about what games he plays...my wife is stricter.
Once you start getting weapons with elements attached to them...I hardly even notice the blood, lol. Yeah I think the "blood" is the man reason for the T rating.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
It's not really gory at all, except when you cut some monsters' tails off (which spin around so goofily that it makes me laugh every time I do it, lol).
This may sound dumb but...is it that violent? I mean, I know you are killing monsters but is it that bad? We don't let him play violent games or watch violent movies...but he did watch Tremors with a friend last weekend.

The game doesn't actually show gory physical wounds or anything like that. When you hit the monster with your weapon it actually doesn't even show the impact in a way of cutting or carving. It more or less looks more like a hit with a baseball bat. And when you carve for parts you don't see anything more the the character take out a knife. He doesn't pull up and parts he cuts it just show in text what they carved. I thing it would be fine for his age but maybe just rent it first and give it a go after he goes to bed! Ill be happy to answer and more questions you might have. I've put in a sick 600+ hours into this game. Sad I know and by far the most hours of any other game for me.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
The game is fairly complicated once you get into it, the beginning is slow and it has a difficulty spike (I think) at the first monster you hunt. You won't get far by button mashing, 'cause that's not what MH is.
