I hope they get the chance to make things right this time, the game had loads of potential. There were so many flaws though, I never finished it. I did love the multiplayer!

Oh, you mean like the Uncharted series? BioShock? Forza? God of War? LittleBigPlanet? Mass Effect? Metal Gear Solid? Portal? Ratchet and Clank?

Yep ... guess you are right after all (!)

I would love a sequel! I just started the original and am really loving it so far.
However, I have a question. I'm at the segment of the game where you need to use a lock pick to get into Buckingham Palace. I got the lock pick, but died, and my next survivor died before retrieving the lock pick. Is it still possible to get the lock pick? How would I do that?
Thanks!

I don't think that you have to go kill the survivor to get the lockpic because I don't think it is in your inventory like pistols, health packs, etc. You should have it now by default, I think.

I could go Super Sonic!

Thanks! I got through that part of the game earlier today. I panicked when I thought I had lost the lock pick, but all was fine!

Just got this on Saturday. Haven't opened it just yet, but I'm excited about it.

Of course it would. All platforms support different forms of tablets, the "GamePad thing" is neither new nor exclusive to Nintendo and Wii U.
Also a sequel wouldnt neccesarily mean the exact same thing again, with the studio working on "new prototypes" for a sequel.

(Also, honestly, ZombiU had a inventory and map on the screen and some really lackluster "puzzles" such as tapping really fast... What gave something to the experience was that the game wasnt paused when messing around in the inventory.. But that can still be achieved on the same one screen really).

No it can't and no other console has a built in seamless second screen like this.
The GamePad was used extensively, as the backpack, as the tools upgrades, the bio, the items display, as the map, the radar, and as setting the atmosphere - the whole pressure was from having to look at 2 screens. On any other console it would just be another zombie game. Not Zombi U in the slightest and not as good.

Anyway, there is no chance it will be made for other consoles. Even if they do make a sequel they'll make it also for the Wii U where at least they have the fanbase, and will probably be the best version, while the others will be gimped or unplayable.

Yeah, it's like the weapons upgrades and the C4. You can't lose it.

You could technically have the entire game on one screen, it would lose some of the atmosphere. While digging through your backpack the TV zooms out and gives you an almost over head veiw of your character which means you are physically looking up at the TV to check your surroundings when digging through your backpack. While other systems have second screen options it is more difficult. With the Wii U you only need the system (as it comes with the controller), with the PS4 you need two systems (PS4 $400/ Vita $250), with the Xbox One you need to juggle devices (between the normal controller and the second screen). Technically ZombiU and most of its features could be ported but you would lose some of the smaller important mechanics

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah having a backpack and upgrades in TLOU almost killed the game

Thankfully everyone felt bad for the devs since they had to release the game on such an inferior platform, so they rated the game highly

Agreed, games on the glorious Wii U would just be unplayable on another other inferior platform

Best post I've read in a while.

Agreed. Nicely put. It is technically possible, I suppose, but will lose the uniqueness and originality of it.

@AlexSays - did not really understand your post, but it seems to me you haven't played either game. You already admitted that you never played Zombi U yet you are always so confident commenting on the game like an expert because apparently you read the reviews about it. I'm playing Last of Us right now, and there are similarties between the game, but so much difference too. For one thing, TLOU is linear (At least until the point I'm at with TLOU) - you sometimes even have to run in a predetermined way. Zombi U is more open - you explore different areas.

Secondly, TLOU has no backpack so I don't know why you said that. It has a scrolling weapons, but you did it with a short click, you don't actually have to open the backup to browse through, at least again until the point I'm at (30%). The games have a whole different take on the Zombie angle - it really seems you are just throwing things out there. You could easily have said Resident Evil or Plants vs. Zombies just the same. It's what I'm saying - the way Zombi U is built is not really possible on other platforms - technically you can do it on a mobile phone as well, but it will lose what makes its Zombi U.

Anyway, you seem to enjoy to try to say something negative about Nintendo stuff, all the time, to give yourself a sense of superiority, and not really engage in any meaningful discussions based on facts.

Eh?!

... were we playing the same game, or did I imagine Joel wearing a backpack throughout the whole game?

He used his backpack to get to his supplies, just you do in ZombiU!

I pick up things with Triangle. I can change all weapons with the D-Pad and a button. Never in a middle of a fight does he stop takes things out. Did you notice in Zombi U you need to see how much space you have so you open the backpack and sort it? In TLOU you only have the quick buttons to sort, but not something huge that you carry all the time. In Zombi U, you even have spaces for the ammo, different ammo, different spaces in the backpack . As far I can see, people can attack you while you're really sitting there with the backup on screen and that's different. Also, you need to have things in the back pack, things in storage - it's a whole different dynamic. Thinking about it more, I think I just prefer the Zombi U way, but some people will say "look on reviews, it was clearly better, not that I've bothered to play the games" so that makes every opinion moot.

So the way the game uses the backpack differently is why the entire game would be unplayable on another platform. lol

If anyone cares about superiority, its you. I don't go around justifying my purchases by claiming other consoles can't even have playable versions of other games.

AlexSays

That makes a lot of sense since I own both Zombi U and TLOU. Keep making up theories. Next time try to form complete arguments instead of focusing on only one example (backpack).
