I hope not. Never good to get all arrogant especially when your console isn't meeting your own sales expectations.

1) Do you like Off TV Play
2) Do you like local multiplayer and have people to play with - Nintendoland is brilliant with 4/5 players and games like Black Ops2, Sonic Transformed and Nano Assualt support 2 player no splitscreen which is great.
3) Have you bought 3rd party ports - Ignore the bs about them being inferior versions. The frame rate drops are generally in cut scenes and don't affect gameplay, and you have all the extra features of the gamepad

I have heard that a rubber jacketed power supply cable is 99.9% effective when used correctly.

I don't have one, nor do I plan on getting one, but Miiverse is a really cool concept, and the potential for the Gamepad is great. Personally though, I think the PS4 will overall be more bang for my buck. The Wii U is getting Pikmin 3 though, so that makes me jealous.

Simply put, it looks alright, but there isn't any must have games for me. Maybe when there is more information on that Monolith title and the Shin Meagam x Fire Emblem crossover.

Follow the PS4 announcement I'm pretty sure my console set-up will be the same as last gen. I'll play the Wii U games as they come in, but the PS4 will have the innovations and features that I actually enjoy using, and so it will be my main home console.

Be interesting to see if Nintendo responds to the PS4 announcement in some way.

My Nintendo, as Nintendo consoles tend to do, will be pretty much reserved for Nintendo's games or third-party stuff that has awesome gamepad integration. Something like Arkham City already comes to mind: I'm glad I played it on my Wii U- the gamepad streamlined the whole experience and did a great job of making you feel like the Dark Knight himself, tablet computer on his wrist and everything. Even the local pleas for help and radio voices that would play through the gamepad as opposed to the TV were a nice touch. It was a great experience that was early in the Wii U's life (a launch title no less), but I feel it is representative of what a third-party game can do with the gamepad to improve the experience even in small ways.

As for my "main" console... I'm just so excited with all of the news around the PS4 and the mystery surrounding the Nextbox. I have a feeling my decision between Microsoft and Sony is going to come very late in the game as I continue to research up until the holiday season. I'm pretty darn impressed by Sony's conference, and since I went with Microsoft last generation I am leaning toward Sony for this one. But, of course, I need to wait until all the cards are on the table. This is an exciting time to be a gamer!

Great at the beginning, But now I regret the early purchase. If I knew that the console would have this dry spout (no games) I would of waited until March with Monster Hunter bundle.

Does any one have a Wii U that they updated and still works. Like you know has all the online apps working?

everything works, Hulu freezes 1 out of 5 times but it isn't that big of a deal for me. I bet if uninstalled it and reinstalled it then hulu would be working fine

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I've owned a Wii U since around Christmas as well. I had been following up about the Wii U since I first heard rumblings of a new Nintendo console back in early 2011, so by the time the console was announced I was stoked to see and hear more about it. Then the time finally came and I got my hands on the console. Initial frustrations setting it up online (involving connecting to the Internet, not downloading the initial updates) quickly turned into the simple joy of playing a decent game of Mario. But, time passed by. I cleared New Super Mario Bros. U completely. After clearing ZombiU, the novelty wore out (but it's still better than the mainstream gaming press made it out to be). The only games I found myself enjoying on Wii U were all games that I could play on PS3. Games such as Black Ops II and Darksiders II looked terrific and are fun to play, but at the end of the day they really were ports.

Do I hate the Wii U? Absolutely not. It's an amazing console that ten years ago, I don't think any of us could've seen coming. With that being said, it's not without its problems. My biggest concern like most others is the dry and stale software market. Like I mentioned before, the ports are generally good but not exactly console-defining experiences. With my circle of local gaming friends, I don't think they get the main focal point of having a second screen. Without convincing software or new ideas, the Wii U will get swallowed whole in the next few years... which I hate to say because I love Nintendo so very much. But between the lack of confidence from big-name publishers like EA and software squabbles (such as the Rayman Legends debacle), it's in a tough spot.

I can't condemn the platform for that though. I'll probably continue to play Wii U at least once a day. Nintendo just needs to take marketing their console seriously and aggressively, while giving third-party publishers some more confidence in the platform.

TL;DR - If there isn't more software, Nintendo might have their own Dreamcast in their hands.

Im pleased. So pleased that I have decided to have Wii U as my main-platform during this generation. (And probably not pick up Playstation 4 until the end when
the price is low and the games are many). I cant complain about the games, I still havent acquired all of the launch-games that i find interesting. But sure, yes, not that many of them are exclusive to the platform but still great games. I dont care about exclusivity. Thats for the companies to care about.
The only thing that "worries" me is the summer which looks well... its nothing there. But then again im not gonna buy all of the games i want at the same time so i problably will end up getting Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3 and so on in the summer and then in a jiffy it will be autmn and Nintendo will bring out the big guns.

Yeah, im pleased.

Yeah me WiiU has replaced my laptop and is now king of the internet surf while watching full HD movies streamed from youtube to the big screen. Awesome games at the same time as a push of the home button gets me on NL to check the doom & gloom news/forums where I can perform a quick troll

I always planned on getting a Wii U, but I'm going to wait until E3 and see what Sony and Microsoft are bringing to determine when I get one. If I'm not happy with what I see from Microsoft or Sony I will pick up a Wii U first. I need to see how Gaikai works before I consider a PS4. If I can stream all my games and PSN downloads I might be interested, otherwise I can wait a few years down the road.

I will say that I am warmimg up to the Wii U. At first I was very critical about the "Wii Mode", but after giving it some thought, it's not a big deal. At least I can still play all my VC and WiiWare games on the new console. It remains to be seen if digital purchases on PS3 or 360 will carry over to the new systems. I am pretty excited to see what is in store for the VC. I can also see a bright future for MiiVerse and the eShop. Who knows, maybe I will pick up a Wii U before the end of the year.

I got my Wii U on Feb 23rd, so I've had it a little over a week now. Here are my thoughts:

I LOVE IT!

Wii U is one of the best consoles I've ever owned. (I've had NES, SNES, Gamecube, Wii, PS1-3, Xbox, & Xbox 360).

I love the design of the system & even more so the gamepad. Love the gamepad. Its my favorite controller out now.

Miiverse is great. I'm addicted to Miiverse (maybe more than Twitter) and I really like Nintendo TVii, Wii Street U, etc.

Also: the Wii U can run netflix AND download demos. Which my PS3 could never do. I like how the system can do multiple things at once. The PS3 isn't very good at that. Heck neither were any of the other systems I use to have. Plus: the donwload speed (for updates, demos & the one big game I dl'd-Trine 2) on my Wii U is faster than it was with the PS3 and I haven't changed my internet service. The Wii U downloads faster than the PS3!

I got the 32 gig model, but I decided to get a hard-drive anyway. Glad I did. So much room to download whatever I want.

Now the system isn't perfect (it almost is though imo). It needs more games, loading times between menus could be faster, & I have had the system freeze up three times now (once when going from one menu to another, once when loading Trine 2, and another time with Wii Street U. But the PS3 froze up a ton, so not a big issue). Can't think of any other issues though.

Wii U is, without a doubt, my favorite system right now. So glad I got it. Can't wait to see Wind Waker HD, the next Zelda, and all the other cool games Nintendo will do for the system. E3 this year should be fantastic.
