Hey everybody. First post here!
I'm experiencing a very weird behaviour from my wii u pro controller. I've been searching all over the Internet, and I can't find anybody who has the same problem as me.
The left thumb stick of my wii u pro controller works just fine. The x-axis of the right thumb stick works just fine. But the Y axis of the right thumb stick inputs as BOTH thumb sticks!!!
At first I thought that it was a matter of preferences in the wii u... some kind of remapping but no! I paired it to my raspberry pi and tested it with jstest-gtk and it does the same thing. So the "problem" is obviously with the controller itself.
My question is: Is there a way to reset the controller to its factory settings? I've tried to remove the battery for a whole day, it did nothing. I tried to recalibrate by holding A B + - for at least 3 seconds, it did nothing. I pressed the reset button for almost a minute, it did nothing... Quite frankly, I don't know what else to try.
Anybody has an idea?
@tonyo_d I've noticed Spawn Wave on youtube seems to easily understand stuff like that, and he's said he used to repair consoles, I think, for gamestop? So, I wonder if you have a retro console repair place around you that you could call or consult?
But yeah, you're scenario is a head-scratcher for me.
edit: Once the pandemic is more under control I'm going to estarland in Virginia to have them repair my gamecube (if they can). They're a retro game store that repairs consoles, and more recently repairs phones now, too. I've tried calling them, but never got through to a person for repair. I've been to the store pre-pandemic though.
@WoomyNNYes Thanks for the reply!
I may be mistaken, but it looks like a software issue to me. Like something corrupted in the controller's firmware??? I wonder if there's a way to reset it...
