Topic: Wii U eShop Games and External Hard Drive

Well I was transferring some games to my hard drive (mostly Orochi Warriors 3) and noticed that certain games appeared to have disappeared from my home menu.

Namely Trine 2, Little Inferno and F-Zero (Wii U VC). However, Orochi Warriors 3 remained on the menu.

So does this mean that only retail downloads can be booted up from an external hard drive? If possible could you post some hard evidence to support your findings rather than circumstantial evidence?

Im going to ignore your need for evidence, because every single game I have is on my external, such as Trine and F zero, and they are all on the menu.

Your issue is perhaps a problem with your harddrive?

All of my games (Retail downloads, Virtual Console, and Indie games) are also loading directy from my Hard Drive, and are all shown on the menu.
Maybe your games need to re-install

Sounds like an ext. HDD issue. I have like 60 something GB worth of games on my HDD, including retail, download only, and VC. They all show up.

Can you guys list what External Hard Drives you have? It might might help Ernest_The_Crab but it will definitely help me pick one that I can trust.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I have a Toshiba Canvio Basics 3.0.
It has 2TB, USB 3.0(USB 2.0 BC), and is 4x3x1(length x width x height).
It is a very good ext HDD, but it requires a Y-cable to work, which you would have to order separately from the HDD.
It's on sale at Best Buy for $130. It's kinda steep in price, but I purposely bought the best option I could get.
If I would have bought a 320GB, I would have already used a 1/5 of the available space, so I think 2TB will be worth it in the long run.

EDIT: Oh ya, it has a shock absorber and ramp, so it's less likely to break from falls or movements while in use.

Nevermind, I found the problem. Apparently, the software just got shuffled around on my menu (moved to another tile spot) when I moved them to the hard drive.

Alright, thanks for your help guys.
