I mostly just want them to add more cool features from past Mario Karts/other racing games. Bringing back missions or Diddy Kong Racing's story mode would be great. Track editor would be cool too.

A new Double Dash might be cool too and it seems like everyone wants that.

Hmm.. I don't know. I would love that but I bet many would bicker at that feature. What I would like is a Double Dash mode.. special tracks and character-specific items.

well a random idea I had would be for Double Dash 2 to be a reasonable way to make their next handheld have an actual launch title anyone cares about since it would essentially just be a better looking Double Dash 1 except with new tracks and online and the like...

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

Take a Smash turn on kart. Include challenges and story/adventure mode(like subspace emissary)

I agree with Kaze's suggestion to keep it specifically Mario characters. Link just seems odd in a kart racing game and I hate playing online and seeing a 12 player race with 6 Links. It would also be nice to have something differentiate the characters other than just weight classes and I'd like more customization options, like being able to use different colors.... and make sure the Koopalings stay in the series and put Bowser Jr. in there as well.

I don't like the idea of making "Nintendo Kart", and I'd love to see cars with two pilots again :3
Also, please bring back the Tanooki Tail. And let us customize the aesthetics of karts!

Two modes like Smash Bros - remove say 80% of the luck from one of them and make the tracks harder. (Make it something that becomes most enjoyable after a certain level of skill is attained).

An X Cup equivalent in Mario Kart would be nice.

NO NO NO! I use the DPad for steering. Sakurai doesn't know how to program the DPad for directional movement.

Those are some really nice ideas. The custom cups are great and would be a blast if they would be shareable online.
And yes, "Nintendo Kart" would be a breath of fresh air. Something like "Wii Party U", which was basically Mario Party without Mario characters.
With Nintendo Kart, they open up a much much more broad range of assets to use and maybe even go the Sonic Allstars Racing / Diddy Kong Racing route and introduce more vehicle types.

Youll always have the purists complaining about changes, sure, but i too would like a more diverse Kart game, to dust off the old formula a bit.

I don't think there will be a Nintendo Kart. The Mario Kart name will live on with added characters outside the Mushroom Kingdom. They could add characters from Smash (mostly Nintendo chars) if they want and there's no need for name change.

No. Please no.

I don't want to see Sakurai let near the Mario Kart series. His choices for characters and content are bad enough in Smash Bros, I don't want him to choose random nobodies over more important Mario characters, nor come up with random 'gimmicks' and 'party' type gameplay that just gets in the way somehow.

And I certainly don't want the Smash Bros competitive scene let near Mario Kart. The Mario Kart competitive scene is much more mature and accepting of other opinions than them...

Mario Kart is much more of a party game than Smash Bros (Other than Super Mario Kart which is the only one played competitively).

I would disagree the others aren't played competitively. You really need to see the time trials scene for 'em, or maybe some of the online competitive scene.

That's where 'snaking' originally came from:

(not Mario Kart Double Dash, but Mario Kart 64 with a few SSMTs per course. 'snaking' in the Mario Kart DS sense then developed from Double Dash onwards).

The games have been played competitively for a long time. It's just a lot more low key than Smash Bros and its tournament scene, and I don't want to see any of the latter in the former.
