and when i meant by great metroid game, i meant one that is better than other M but is on par with or even exceed super metroid and/or prime 1. i'd prefer this entry to be a side scroller, more exploration involved but still a first-person shooter. oh and either retro studios or gearbox, who made aliens: colonial marines should tackle this one.
It just needs to be $150, offer far better graphics than what modern computers can, and have some of the greatest games ever created. Then I might consider buying it.
Uh, we're talking about the Wii U here. All the F-Zeros since the SNES have been 3d.
Uh, really Sherlock? I am referring to stereoscopic 3D. I thought we were beyond having to specify that. But hey man, I invite you to check out Wipeout HD in STEREOSCOPIC 3D to give you an idea on rad F-Zero 3D could be.
I realize that, but there's no need for them to put "3D" in the title as it does make it sound like a 3DS game. Although a 3DS counterpart would be sweet.

I'm hoping Wii U gets enough 3rd party support because alongside Nintendo's regulars, I like the idea of having a console that may well just play it all. No need for multiple consoles or boxed games anymore....maybe?
Gamecube games for download would require me to change my trousers upon confirmation! It's Nintendo and I'm not ashamed to say Yes, I am a fanboy so I'll be buying it anyway! But let me share some complex maths with you, Zelda+HD=I need this!!!

I don't remember reading anywhere that the Wii U is going to me 3D-ready. Source please.

If you are going to connect Wii U with a home TV capable of displaying 3-D images, technologically, yes, it is going to be possible, but that's not the area we are focusing on.
When it comes to 3-D, we already have the 3DS, and each owner of the Nintendo 3DS is capable of viewing 3-D images. However, when it comes to the home console, it depends upon the availability of 3-D TV sets at home, which, unfortunately, is not expanding enough. And rather than pouring a lot of energy into that kind of area, with the Wii U we'd like to focus more on each Wii U owner being able to have an equal opportunity to enjoy it.
To me that kinda reads "yes it can, but we're not going to push it hard. If someone wants to make a 3D game we're not going to stop them". Kinda like how both the 360 and PS3 do 3D even though nobody really seems to cares THAT much about it. It's not like you see long descriptions about how the 3D worked at the bottom of reviews for Arkham City.
Besides, Nintendo have spent the last few years talking about how good 3D without glasses is. Do we really expect them to jump on stage at the next E3 with 3D glasses on talking about how great the Wii U's 3D is? No, it'll be a bullet point on the back of the box!
Lets see what's the selling point for Nintendo. Today I was surprised by an study about gamers movements in the last years. During the first years of the Wii the community was greatly increased by new female gamers and it seems most of them are non gamers again, with a proportion back to 1 out of 5. Most of these that stay as gamers prefer RPGs, adventure and FPS.
Pikmin 3 and Smash Bros. Both of those are confirmed, so I will buy it.
They were pretty much confirmed without any official announcements, so you would have bought it without hesitation.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy was a great start on Nintendo platforms (Ace Combat Advance should be destroyed from existence), so like I said earlier, I would LOVE to have a new Ace Combat game on my future Wii U. Ace Combat 7? THAT I would buy.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
There are a lot of good points. I would say that the Wii U has to be around $300. The people that say $150 are way off.
There is so much going on in the rumor mills these days. Android OS, haptic technology, e-reader, cablebox, app store.... These articles are kind of a good compilation of the latest shtuff:
