I tend to disagree with the original poster, even though I know he was using a little hyperbole.

I was not excited for the Wii U when it was debuted back at E3, and this conference has done nothing to improve that feeling. In fact, I hate to say this, but I am disappointed in the Wii U so far.

It's not a bad system by any means, and certainly there are some very good games coming out for it down the pipeline, but there's nothing that reaches out and grabs me, nothing that justifies yet another $300 (and then some, at minimum) investment.

I am glad that Nintendo is beginning to evolve. They are finally beginning to accept a true online service, with full retail game downloads and expandable storage. I was pleased to hear about VC games allowed to be brought over from the Wii. Even the TVii service, which, quite frankly, adds nothing to what you already have (it merely, unless I'm mistaken, groups together and organizes all of your TV viewing apps into one service) but shows how Nintendo is willing to adapt to the new market.

I wish they could couple that with some truly remarkable game experiences. Of course I want Metriod, Mario, and Zelda. I also want to see the return of Star Fox and F-Zero. And please surprise us with something new. Games like Nintendo Land and Game and Wario are ok, but I want a true game experience, not a mere diversion or activity.

I can understand where you are coming from. But one must not forget that the system is only going to get better after launch, when more titles are brought out and general improvements made over time. If I may ask, are you just disappointed at this current time but will likely change your mind as the Wii U starts to gain ground? Because it seems a number a people are feeling the same way. I guess they just need some time to see the whole thing grow and develop before jumping onto the bandwagon. I can respect a perspective like that.

Yeah NO system EVER has been released at its full potential or has shown off it's best graphics day 1 (looks at 3DS) and I doubt WiiU is any different

I really don't get why they held some of this stuff back at E3. Honestly, it's stuff like Bayonetta 2 that the conference lacked... I never saw that one coming!

I can't wait for Sony to unveil its next console at Nintendo Direct.

To be fair E3 is dead period, Sony will have its conference, but not Nintendo direct maybe TGS, what I'm worried about is Microsoft they can have a TGS

I think I would agree that what's known now about first party for the U is pretty underwhelming. I'm interested in five of the fifty launch games and non of them are Nintendo. There's nothing really to get excited about, bar a Smash Bros game, what 2 years away...there must be something due in 14 months, what is it?

My sole source of disappointment was a lack of more traditional Nintendo franchises (no Metroid, F-Zero, Star Fox, and the last Wii U Zelda we saw was a tech demo, not a game in the works) on the horizon. However, I figure we'll get some of that at E3 next year. I know Nintendo will have to show off some other franchises in beautiful HD, because Nintendo has to know it has to take a bit of a break on Mario (lest it risk seriously burning gamers out on him)! Fingers cautiously crossed for numbered Final Fantasy soon too!

Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

Ubisoft seems to be the only one, it might as well be called Ubisoft confrance

E3 being dead would mean it isn't happenning. E3 provides tons of news for the press. You've got to realize that tons of info comes out of E3. Even if something was announced, we get to see something new come out of it.

Yes, because the conferences are all that happen at E3.
Oh wait, that's not correct at all.
