Ugh... Love Nintendo and the wii u but this E3 was a massive disappointment all the way around. At least the 3DS got some love. It's clear Nintendo is preparing themselves to move on from the wii u and I won't wait around to see it happen. I still a gamecube with the best of games for it. I've sadly decided to sell my wii u with all wii u everything and buy the ps4. I'm not a fan boy but I don't want to keep a console that has maybe one year left of games when I could trade it al in and get a console that'll be supported for at least 3 plus years. Nintendo I'll check in with the NX next year and I'm strongly considering buying a 3DS if I do trade my wii u but man, I feel burned.
I think Splatoon was the last "big" game on wiiu. Yeah sure zelda will come eventually but at this point there's no doubt imo that it'll come to NX as well.. No idea what nintendo was thinking.
There's still Xenoblade Chronicles X
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal
I'm currently playing Sniper Elite 5, Forza Horizon 4 & Black Ops 6 multiplayer.
I think it convinced me that both systems (3DS and Wii U) are on the way out, and with the word that Zelda is still coming to Wii U means it'll probably be that console's swansong. Shame, but I think I predicted years ago that Wii U would last until 2016 and that seems to be the case.
Exactly, Nintendo is not dumb and they know the importance of showing off future games not 2015 games. I was so blown away by star wars battlefront, doom 3, horizon, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7, unraveled. This E3 showed us the big leap graphically with all the new xboxone and ps4 games. Animal crossing themed life board game!?!? Not even a traditional and new wii u animal crossing game.
I think its pretty clear the wiiu is dead. NX will be the replacement. Im thinking Metroid, Zelda and Mario will be launch titles. Have a feeling Zelda will no longer be coming to the WiiU..but who knows, they might to a twilight princess thing to not piss off wiiu owners.
This was there chance to wow people and get people wanting to buy a wiiu and they failed miserably.
Such a huge disappointment.

If Miyamoto is stressing that Zelda U is still coming to Wii U at this point then I'm sure it'll release crossgen.
I'm fairly certain that they plan to release the NX sometime in late 2017, so the Wii U probably doesn't have that much longer. That being said, I think there's a chance we may see some big games along with Zelda for its farewell parting, but after watching the Digital Event who knows.
No, I think E3 was a sign of how Nintendo is greenlighting the wrong games. There were so many retail games announced, but none of them felt like they SHOULD be retail games.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
Oh, one of these threads.
I love the way people are saying Nintendo's called it quits for the Wii U. Just because of an underwhelming E3 conference.
What's even more amusing is the so called fact that 'Nintendo's switching their big guns to the NX.'

NX is not new hardware, it will be a new platform/os like android and ios. They have pretty much said this straight up several times already. I almost bet that we will see software updates for Wii U and the new 3ds that install this new operating system. Then they can make a game once and have it run on both, it will automatically scale the quality settings and what not per platform.
Then moving forward, Nintendo could literally release new hardware every year, wether it be console, handheld, or even one of each! Think of how the mobile market is right now, better faster hardware comes out more regularly, and the older stuff is still relevant and can usually run even the new games for a long time to come. Plus nintendo will probably have better support for the older stuff for more years than you would get out of a smart phone.
They can keep making new games, and release it for any old supported hardware that will still run it. I think we will end up seeing that the current Wii U and new 3ds will be lasting much longer than anyone truly expects, and will be able to exist side by side with newer hardware releases.
It was certainly a big disappointment all round for Nintendo. They didn't really announce any big new games for either system. If they were really being honest that the NX isn't replacing the Wii U, you kinda feel like they needed a few big Wii U announcements (e.g Metroid and Animal Crossing) to keep the console going. So they've either got a few big announcements that just weren't ready yet or they're quietly winding down Wii U development.
I'm not hugely fussed though, I've got a big enough backlog to last a long while. Xenoblade, Star Fox and Zelda all look quite excellent too.
Yes, the WiiU is in its twilight, Nintendo is moving console development on to NX, and they are certainly not replacing the 3DS line with a new portable given all of the new games shown for 3DS.
Zelda will still come out next fall but it will be launching on NX and no doubt be demoed exclusively on NX hardware at E3 next year.

You know that NX isn't a home console, right? The home console market is dead in Japan, and NX is addressing just that. Read the latest investor report docs.

What games did they announce for the Wiiu that's actually worth it? Nothing just the same things we knew about it shows Nintendo is leaving the Wiiu and focusing on the next big thing. If they weren't they would have more games for the Wiiu then what they shown at this event. But they didn't mark my words you're not going to see the Wiiu next year. And really why release new games on a dying plattform? Why not give the system a strong launch? Why not give it a chance to sell?
