Along with Nintendo recently announcing they'll be adding N64 and DS games to the Wii U, they also said that for people who purchased the game on the Wii VC can upgrade to the Wii U version of the game for only $2. I have quite a few games on my original Wii, including Super Mario 64 which came out today on Wii U. Does anyone know how to get the discount? I'm not sure if there was an account I made on the Wii or something i'm forgetting, or if there's another way to go about it.
Me and i'm sure some others would like to know if anybody has the solution.

Thanks.

If you did a system transfer to the Wii U then you'll be fine. As it'll automatically give you the discount if you re-buy the game on Wii U.

I'm such a mug. I gave my old Wii to my Sis and her BF as it was during the Wii game drought at the end of its life and I was focussing on my career. Then they announced the Last story, Xenoblade, pandoras tower, skyward sword. SO inevitably i purchased a new Wii, lovely and red, mainly to play those 4 games.
My point is, the original Wii that I gave away had a shed load of VC on it, ther red one, nada. Guess which one I transfered to my Wii U on the 30th November 2012.....
Have spoken with Nintendo support about this but they say I can only transfer data from 1 Wii, which, obviously, I have already done.
Just another example of Nintendo's barbaric account system I guess!!

A question: has anyone transfer multiple Wiis to Wii U?

An example: I do system transfer Wii to Wii U, then I continue purchasing in my Wii VC and then I do another system transfer, or maybe I got another used Wii and I want to transfer the downloads. That is my question, has anyone transfer multiple Wiis to Wii U? or also transfer Wii from Wii U to another Wii U?

Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.

You can do multiple system transfers, with it all being integrated together on your Wii U. Any duplicate material like two saves for the same game, will be overwritten with the latest one that's transferred.

You should ask your sister if they ever play those downloads on your old Wii, if they still even have it, and see if you could borrow it to transfer them to your Wii U.

Their Miis and saves will go along for the ride, although you'd be able to transfer any non system locked save file back to it via SD card.

While I've never had need to do a 2nd transfer from the same Wii, I can also confirm that it can be done. For instance when Lost Winds was made transferable, that's how people were able to move that game over after having previously transferred everything else over.

While I can see wanting to integrate stuff from a 2nd Wii onto your Wii U, why would you transfer all your content from your Wii to your Wii U, and then continue buying downloads on your Wii afterwards?

Wouldn't if make more sense to save yourself the hassle and just buy it directly from the Wii U's Wii Shop in Wii mode?

Shame about the region lock, I'd love to have been able to migrate my Japanese Wii stuff onto my UK Wii U!
