I actually thought the left, on the last posted comparison, was the wii with the right being the wii u. Maybe it's Youtube, but the differences are too minute for me to notice. Where WWHD was painfully obvious, but I suppose that was just the benefit of the art style.
The textures are a little better, though honestly if there wasn't a side by side I probably wouldn't notice it
What makes you think they've improved the lighting. Looks identical to me.
It's not in your face but it's there. I noticed it in one of the side-by-side comparisons where some of the lighting in the town was a bit more natural in the Wii U version. Also in a few of the other scenes I think it has been improved. Things like shadow resolution and a few of the other effects like water and fire have also been improved.

That's generally the idea with a remaster. It's supposed to look like the original without all of the rough edges. If it was noticeably different then at some point it's not the same game anymore. The intent is to convince you that this is how the game always looked.

Got a pic? Wouldn't it be weird if they actually altered the lighting but made it barely noticeable?
Maybe it was just the slightly different textures instead?
Imo they haven't done enough to warrant a full priced game. This game at most should be 40$ with the Amiibo. I'll still enjoy it The same but I feel like I'm getting much less then I should be.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
So this is more like a retexturing with the removal of some of that bright fog. I like how the Wii had a seemingly darker visual effect as well but the clarity is nice on the WiiU.

As I said, like a good remake when you're watching the new version by itself you think "this is the same game". That's the point. Anywho, you asked for screenshots of the bits that stood out to me in terms of lighting. There are some other sections where it's visible but in Hyrule Town it's most obvious.

Except Twilight Princess is still better than most full priced video games?
I mean you can probably find the original for cheap, so fair enough...
Twilight Princess would have been my GOTY had it been released exactly as is basically every year since it came out and will probably continue in that trend through 2016 and beyond.

Hmmmn, this worries me, because when I played through MM3D a lot of areas felt off to me. Especially the lighting in some places was just weird. TPHD is looking a lot cleaner in 1080p, which I really don't think is always a good thing. We can wax on and on about 'oh, but the number is > the old one!'

'greater than'
The implicit value judgement that comes with having a higher resolution can mask some, perhaps more aesthetically meaningful, concerns. I don't want TP to look any less dirty, grimy, and dark because that affects the mood of that world. Granted, there's not many irksome things in the original version, so I guess it's a win for me regardless.
@Haru17:
I personally think they've done a good job of improving the lighting without changing the mood. There's less bloom obviously which is going to annoy some purists, hard to not annoy the purists though. But most of the other stuff is just improved environmental lighting from what I can tell.

Yeah, it looks alright so far, but, just like Majora's Mask, you really have to explore all of the nooks and crannies to find what they really messed up. The Lakebed Temple looks beautiful ATM tho.
It's just weird, 'cause, after you kill Ganondorf, you know that shot of Midna in the distance? You see a small, vaguely Midna-sized figure beneath the four light spirits. Link runs over to see Twilight Princess Midna, etc, etc, etc. Thing is, in the 1080p dolphin youtube videos it's totally screwed up, because it's too clear: you can obviously see that it's imp Midna's model and it ruins the scene.
You just can't go remaking games heedlessly or else why even buy the remake if they messed a bunch-a-stuff up?
I don't like the change. The one thing Twilight Princess did right that every other Zelda game did wrong was that if your wallet was full and you opened a chest, you would put the rupee back in the chest thus you wouldn't be wasting rupees. And if you were low on rupees you could back back to that unopened chest and get the rupee back. And players shouldn't use chests to see which room they've been in, they should look at which room is highlighted, and which room isn't.
Those 3 changes are all very good news to my ear. Didn't that article also confirm the gyro controls?
Although it has to be said, the more stuff they seem to have changed, the more it seems weird that they've left all of the geometry the same.

Thanks, that great.
I think the first one is just a higher resolution rendertarget base for the bloom. The second one does look different though. Maybe just the added torches or maybe more light for the entire scene. Could just be a difference in the textures though.
@Jason723: I was about to say the exact same thing. One of the best improvements Twilight Princess made from its predecessors, and they're taking it away...
I hope they fixed the damn glitch that ruins your entire game save if you save and quit before clearing the twilight dudes after the big bridge. Just after the fire temple. Means you legit have to restart your game.
@Dezzy: There's also that glitch where if you save in the basement in Kakariko village, when you just uncovered the sky cannon, the dude won't leave you alone, which means you can't transform into a wolf to trigger the cutscene, meaning you have to restart your game.
