I would forgive the bland visuals that look like they were barely touched if they redid the soundtrack but I really doubt they'd put that much effort into. Oh well, maybe next time.

I tried playing Twilight Princess in Wii mode (haven't played it) about 2 years ago during the early Wii U game draught, but I gave up because it looked really terrible. They did much more than barely touch the visuals in TP:HD.

They retextured it and upped the resolution. That would take a good team, what? A month? Two months? They didn't smooth any edges, and since we can see them clearly now, they look really bad. The spires on Hyrule Castle look particularly bad, it looks like they are made up of 2 polygons each. They didn't add any lighting or color, something Twilight Princess really needs. They did they bare minimum they could do, and any fans of this game should be upset, because since they are half-assing the remake now, we won't see an actually updated version for a very long time.
@rishisquid: I'm a huge fan of Twilight Princess, my second favourite Zelda, and I don't think I'm in a position to say what Tantalus 'should' or 'shouldn't' have done, and I could care less about the spires on Hyrule Castle. Am I now not a true Zelda/Twilight Princess fan for having this opinion? Are Zelda fans only Zelda fans if they hate Skyward Sword, love Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask and are upset at this remaster? Or perhaps your opinion doesn't speak for all of us?
@TheLastLugia: I'll have you know I love SS and haven't even played OoT It is my opinion that this remake is lazy, and I am surprised that other fans such as yourself are not upset at this waste of opportunity.
Honestly, I think the game looks really good. The problem with the fan remake is that they changed the artstyle too much to where it doesn't really have the same feel as Twilight Princess. I agree Nintendo could have done more, but the remake still looks great. It keeps the dark atmosphere of the original game while cleaning up the textures and making the game look like less of a blurry mess.

I found the Nintendo Minute video to be somewhat informative (I may notice more when I watch it again).
My observations:
1. I love how you can use the Gamepad to transform Link. I have nothing against talking to Midna, but in segments of the game where you transform a lot, this became a bit irritating and killed my immersion a bit.
2. We got to see more of the game, and I like how areas like the market have had their assets improved. The fruit struck me as more vibrant and colorful. While I like the fan render shown off above, I feel that it makes the world almost too vibrant for Twilight Princess. Yes, Nintendo/Tantalus could have done even more when cleaning up the game, but it looks less blurry and still retains its feel, and I'm fine with that.
3. Link being left-handed indicates to me that the world is that of the Gamecube version. As I've only played the Wii version, I'm looking forward to the world actually being (for me) mirrored. Also, Link being left-handed is more natural to me.
4. I have nothing against the waggle controls (yes, they were gimmicky, but they worked), but it will still be interesting to play the game using an actual controller, complete with gyroscope controls.
As a personal comment, though, I wish they had shown off a different dungeon besides City in the Sky. It's my least favorite dungeon in the whole game.
@Tsurii: For the record, those are not new models. Computers are very good with smoothing out spheres. That doesn't work too well on characters and other objects, like trees for example. They haven't remade any of the models, they applied some surface smoothing here and there to take the rough edges off. Still, that doesn't do this game justice; it needs a complete overhaul.
I would hope the load times would be improved lol. Interesting decision to make Link faster in some regards. Not sure why, but I guess it's good either way
What does "as good as it should" mean? It looked bad in 2006 and nothing short of completely redoing all of the assets in a new, different art style would fix it. This is about as good as it can look, including attempts from a fan's liberal use of blur and a saturation slider.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
@CaviarMeths: They are charging $60 dollars for this game, so as much as they are charging for the NEW Zelda they've been working on for five years, while this must have taken a few months at most. That is one reason, however I'm not just salty about the price. The Wii U is capable of so much more, so forgive me for expecting it. I'm so sorry for not being satisfied with the crap Nintendo churned out for easy money.
I'm not the one who needs to visit an optometrist if you think that is the best they could do.
