@iKhan: I don't know why you're so passionate in your hatred against this amiibo thing, especially in Twilight Princess HD. From the so far unconfirmed reports, amiibo are used to replenish heats & arrows, unlock one optional dungeon we know nothing about yet and give access to an even harder Hero mode. Which one of these has you so enraged? I have all the Zelda amiibo and have the Wolf Link one ordered (partly because I can't get the physical version without it in the UK) and I'm probably going to use it once to play through that dungeon and that's it. I'll bet any money right now the dungeon will be nothing special. Yet you're so wound up about it? As I said before, this could be much worse, I'll give you an example of another game here:
EA's Star Wars Battlefront. Since day one, this game has been negativity affected by its DLC practices, with pre-orders coming with early access to a new map, mode and a couple of weapons that the rest of us had to wait for, with one of those weapons allowing people who preordered to dominate in the first few weeks. In the next few months, the Season Pass content will be released, giving people who bought it exclusive access to several maps, 4 characters and weapons. In a game that only has 5 planets, 6 characters and a dozen or so main weapons, people are getting tired of the content already, an EA will capitalise on that by being the kind souls they are and selling £40 more content to keep the game alive for some. For the rest? They'll keep getting killed by the better DLC weapons, be locked out of the new and fresh maps and will have to watch people run around as Chewbacca and Lando (probably those two are safe bets) while they continue to be bored of the minimal content their £50 day one purchase bought them.
But hey, at least they're not being locked out of one dungeon, one difficulty mode and replenishing abilities. Those lucky Battlefront players don't know how easy they've got it.
@TwilightAngel: well don't buy it then, you'll do the Ordon crap, go to the twilight, become Wolf Link, restore the light, do the Forest Temple, go to Eldin, restore the light, Goron section, then Lanaryu, yadayadayada etc etc... Link stabs Gannondorf the end thanks for buying and playing Twilight Princess from start to finish now in HD with better control options and annoyances reduced (pleaseeee let that Twilight bug reduction be true). All that for what is it £40/$50 if you get it digitally? If this one dungeon affects you that much then more power to you that's your prerogative. Just try not to sound entitled yeah? Thanks.
@TheLastLugia: "well don't buy it then" That's your argument? I expected better from a Nintendo fan. Wow! And the rest of your comment is just you saying random crap. So hold this L fam you deserve it.
@TwilightAngel: well to people who aren't entitled to everything in the world, not buying things they don't agree on/like/can't afford is an option. But to people like you yes, Nintendo should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for denying you the opportunity to play the Cave of Ordeals Wolf Edition unless you get the figure. I'm sure your life will be significantly affected as a result of this, so feel free to stamp your feet and type away. I for one can do longer give a damn now that I've seen how pathetic and trivial (again) this 'on-disk DLC' is. Maybe if you stamp hard enough you'll make yourself heard to your neighbours at least, because it must be what a week since this was leaked and I've failed to see why I should be outraged like you people.
@TheLastLugia: You just laughed at the cave thing for being crap. Yet you named battlefronts season pass to reply to Ikans comment. You do know the season pass has costumes and emotes right? Those stupid emotes and costumes star wars fans like and you do know it's optional right? And they're crap? Just like this right? So why talk down about the season pass/DLC and somewhat praise Nintendo's DLC thing? Why??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
And again i don't care what it is,many people don't want to buy a toy/piece of plastic for content. Cause content is content no matter what it is. So hold this L you deserve it brother for the nonsense you're writing right now. And you can call me an elitist or self entitled. But i'm thinking about others with this Amiibo thing,so i'll say this one more time maybe you'll get it? Here it goes for one last time. Many people don't want to buy a toy for content. Not everyone is a collector not a everyone is a child. So you know what they can do? Put the content in the Eshop for people who want it instead of the toy. Is that so hard? Really?
@TwilightAngel: if you look back a couple of pages instead of having something akin to a mini-tantrum, you'll see I already said that in an ideal world, all amiibo DLC would/could/should be available to purchase separately. However I then brought up the obvious problem that this would present, not only would it greatly diminish the value of amiibo (it'd be hard to stick to that £11/$15 RRP if it doesn't offer anything 'truly' unique) the even bigger problem is that there would be nowhere to draw the line. Should every single costume in Mario Maker and Wooly World be sold separately? And if so at what price? The modes in Mario Party? The amiibo training in Smash? How about being the first company ever to sell co-op on its own by way of getting rid of the uniqueness of the Shovel Knight amiibo? See when you asses things critically and don't just whine, you'll see that things can get muddy very, very quickly. If you're so convinced, I'll be happy to see how you think Nintendo could get away with selling some and not all amiibo content separately. The moment they do it for one game, people will demand it for all of them because of course they will, and then you have a problem.
Oh and I'm guessing I've just wasted 5 minutes of my life as you clearly ignored my Star Wars point entirely and just made stuff up. They ain't selling $50's worth of emotes and costumes. More's the pity that they aren't, considering the player base will be fractioned due to the unique characters and maps that it actually includes. Do try at least next time, otherwise there's literally no point at all. Not that there was one anyway for Cave of Ordeals Wolf edition 10/10 GOAT feature anyway.
You will still need an amiibo if you want to play then trial dungeon cave thingy.
Nah, I'll live without that one pretty happilly. If I end up picking up the amiibo, it'll be because it looks cool and it's easy to come by — assuming that NoA gives it separate release from the game (so a lot of theoreticals going on here). And because Midna is rad.
