I like that mock up, but I think the wii remote projectile would have to be his side B. His final smash would be something like 'clumsy mode', where, in addition to every A or B attack, reckless guy would toss a wii remote on every button press.
I voted for Henry from Fire Emblem: Awakening. He could be the slow but strong character, slower than Robin, but stronger than said character. He could wield the worst dark spells in the game such as Waste, Aversa's Night, and Mire. He could also use Nosferatu, even though Robin already uses it.
You should realize that 1st party characters are the one who would be selected, because 3rd party characters would require permission and licensing fee to be included.
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Heh, that'd be an interesting take, an all magic fighter. Though Robin's slow as is, Henry would be Monado Shield Shulk levels of slow speed.

Oh, now some developers and companies beg people to vote for their characters? Puh-lease! where have you been when Nintendo needed you?
On Nintendo's platforms. The biggest culprits have been Yacht Club Games and WayForward for Shovel Knight and Shantae. Konami is for Snake returning, though as said above the situation between Kojima and Konami makes Snake a pretty much impossible choice.
Keep in mind that characters who are already in the game as an Assist Trophy, Pokeball Pokemon, or stage boss can't happen. Yes, that goes for Ridley as well. Characters who aren't originally from a video game (such as Goku or Shrek) can't happen either.
I also imagine that Snake and Hades are impossible choices as well. Snake most likely isn't possible due to the situation between Kojima and Konami, while Hades is "too dead" (Smash is in line with Kid Icarus canon, in which Hades is dead).

I've always thought of smash happening during everyone's conflicts, not after. By that logic, TP Ganondorf shouldn't be in the game, cuz he's pretty much dead after TP. Also, if Nintendo really wanted to, they could de-program the assist trophies. I'm sure no one would miss them if they were replaced by characters. Ridley, on the other hand, would be harder.

It could be that Smash occurs only after Kid Icarus Uprising but during everyone else's conflicts. Palutena's Temple is the only proof towards any kind of point in time for a franchise (Palutena's guidance with Dark Pit). As for Assist trophies/Ridley, they could technically use the Alfonzo strategy so whenever Ridley was played then it wouldn't appear on Pyrosphere..
Any character, as long as its form a video game, can be voted in. People can stop saying non nintendo things aren't considered.
Also, seems that yacht club games and wayfoward wants their character in for smash.
I honestly wouldnt mind, as both would be cool additions to the game.
Perhaps Shantae, as Shovel knight has some sword of sorts, and we already have lots of sword users :V
