I think this might just be the greatest Mario game ever made thus far. Not even joking around. The imagination and innovation seeping from this game seems to be the strongest it's ever been.

If I went back to before to pre-Direct SM3DW thread and posted that, I'd be laughed out of the forum! XD

I'm actually still surprised there was so much criticism after the first trailer. Where was the so called "lack of imaginiation" in that trailer? All I saw was a radical new power-up, a bunch of new enemies and locations, and sailing on the back of a freakin' Yoshi. What wasn't to like?

I think the similarities to 3D Land turned a lot of ppl off.
The newest trailer is DEFINITELY better than what they showed at E3 though. I'm still on the fence about getting it next month, but at least I know that its something I will eventually buy.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

I'm in the small group who really thought highly of it after the E3 video, but the latest trailer definitely increased my desire to own this game ASAP! It's definitely going to be one of the best Wii U games so far, and I'm ready to play the single player and multiplayer. Each will offer different challenges, and I'll be spending many hours on this title in the coming months. It's probably a good thing DKC: TF got delayed because I wouldn't have had time for both anyway. LOL.

Sonic Lost World may be taking a page from Super Mario Galaxy, but it looks like Bowser is taking some inspiration from Eggman with that evil Bowser carnival in the top right corner.

Remember when they said that this game is going to be the "Grand Culmination" of Mario games? I'm really starting to believe that now. I think It's showing every Mario title some love.

And even Mario Kart, with Bowser's new car!

@CapnPancakes: That's what I thought too. Bowser's amusement park up there reminds me of Dr. Eggman's from Sonic Colors.

Also the area with the cat Bullet Bills where Mario walks on a glowing path looks VERY similar to the speed paths in Starlight Carnival.

I was honestly taken by surprise with the new trailer; it just got me hooked! All the new power-ups and everything they showed, changed my initial reaction at E3 from "meh" to "OH WOW THIS LOOKS FANTASITC!1!"

The only power-ups missing from it to make me even more excited are the Cape Feather and Frog Suit!

Also, the similarities between SM3DW (Bowser's Space Carnival) and Lost World (Galaxy-esque level design), really makes me wish for a true cross-over game with the two franchises!

@WaveBoy I agree about the music. It seems like we haven't heard brand-new, catchy Mario music in a long time.

Koji Kondo needs to get back in the game!

The most recent ones I can think of are the main Galaxy theme and the "Wa-wa" theme from the NSMB. (The "Wa-wa" theme... man its like an permanent ear-worm now.)

Kondo and his co-composer on Galaxy are doing the music this time, so...

I find that peculiar too. Plus, there is a third Sonic game yet to be announced besides Lost World and the Olympic title, so maybe, just maybe, that'll be the long awaited crossover that isn't sports related?

Wait what tracks are being reused? The music sounds brand new to me...
