@ELI-ASH: Thanks. That's the mode I'm actually looking forward to trying most haha.Being so open I'll need to figure out the best angles to ninja hide behind the post when riding the tower.I've been having a lot of success on TC recently doing this and dropping bombs to re-ink the base every few seconds haha.
@Blue_Blur: Really? I regularly see the Splatling. Have used it myself a more than a couple of times though. After all, according to the devs the game's matchmaking is supposed to match you with people who have a similar play style like yourself. ^^ @yokokazuo: Yeah I think I haven't played one SZ on the Museum without a sniper in the opposing team. This map is definitely suited for snipers. I'm fine with my Dual Squelcher though.
I used the server downtime to complete a level in Mario Maker... think I'll jump into SZ now.
@TheXReturns: Not true, I actually really like splat zones in that stage. It did take me a while to figure it out but the first thing I do is run to the other side after I swim through my zones side then start taking the other team out. It works more often then not because they aren't expecting to get hit from behind so quickly.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I've barely got to play on the museum mode. I kept getting Camp Triggerfish, and losing my rank... (I'm back in A rank again... :/)
Also, anyone else for private battles in 2 hours time? There's 6 people who've said ok so far (including myself). 2 more people would be ideal. 8 player private battles are a blast, especially when the mode keeps changing.
I'm really digging the new Museum d'Alfonsino map. It was about tiem we got a new one and this map certainly does not disappoint! Rainmaker mode is excellent, a real challenge to get a knock-out finish and in Splat Zone mode the conflict is brutal and hectic. Lovely jobbely!

@Kinan: If you want to learn sniping I would definitely recommend Flounder Heights and Moray Towers. Of course Museum d'Alfonsino, too. Triggerfish is also not bad for that. Also, there are always Snipers on Arowana Mall, although that stage isn't that big really. But there are a few semi-safe sniper spots. @TheXReturns: Actually I thought the same, when I played Camp Triggerfish on SZ for the first time a few weeks ago. I was also surprised that it only has one SZ, I thought there was another Zone on the other side. And I got splatted by Snipers alot. But then I got the hang of it, there is enough room to hide between the walls and if you're quick enough, you can just swim up the wall and kill the snipers in close-combat.
Strange, yesterday I had definitely more matches on the new map than on the others. It even felt like the game did this on purpose. But I wonder anyway how it can be that you sometimes get the same map for like 3-7 times in a row. I mean, I get the concept of randomness, but still they could tweak it a little bit. @LztheQuack: I thought that, too, for a long time. When the 12th map was to release, I was even sure that we would get a three-map-rotation. But then I read this explanation from the developers and it completely changed my mind:
I think if maps were selected at random from all the possibilities, everyone would only use weapons that have âthe greatest common divisorâ and that work the same way in every map. But when maps are limited to two, you can have alternative weapon choices like âIâll go with a charger for these two mapsâ. If there are more than three stages, all-rounder weapons become popular.
Think about it, it makes sense. I definitely do choose my weapons according to the map and the mode, so if the maps were completely random, you couldn't do that.
They're most likely still got Museum d'Alfonsino to make sure everyone gets a chance to play on it. I suspect they'll be more variety again after few more stage rotations.
@LztheQuack: That's normal when a new map is released. And I definitely think it's better that way. Because
1) It gives the players more time/opportunity to learn the new map
2) not everyone has played it already (only came out yesterday)
3) I bet those Splatoon players that maybe haven't played for some time only come back because of the new map. So they would be disappointed if they wouldn't get the opportunity to play it more often.
I for one would've been disappointed if the rotation would've gone back to normal today.
I love the new map and I wouldn't mind if it were a fix part of the rotation for the whole week!
@LztheQuack: 2 new maps were shown but only 1 is available for now,the other one will come before January. You do get used to the 2 map rotation after a while,i'd love if there was 3 or even better shorter rotation times but it is what it is.It's actually quite useful getting a good run on the same maps when you first start out as you get to really learn them that way.
@OorWullie: Exactly! I also learned to appreciate the rotation mode. Actually I think less than four hours would be too short. I often saw a rotation on Splatnet that I wanted to play on, but didn't find the time and wished the rotation duration would be longer. So I think four hours are really perfect. As long as they choose the maps carefully, I would also like a three-map-rotation. But then again, I got so used to the two-map-rotation, it doesn't bother me at all anymore. As you said, this way you really get a better feeling of the maps and therefore are more likely to start a good (or bad ) run. This way, even after months I still learned new things about the maps. You can study them better in consecutive matches. This probably wouldn't have happened if you weren't stuck with two maps for a few hours.
My GOTY? Legend Of Zelda: Splat of the child. Ah no, I meant LoZ: Breath of the SPLATOOOON!
@Spoony_Tech I'm talking rollers. Too slow to run without getting splatted, too little range to chuck ink over. Even Carbons are too slow to make the run, and dynamos are way too exposed to sniper fire.
Three hour rotations would be better. Decently long to do a long stint, but shorter to skip over rotations you don't get on with.
@CrimsonTadpoles@Iggly@Blue_Blur@Jazzer94@DreamyViridi In 20 mins, should we just put the teams to random, stage choice to random and just play randomly? It was more fun that way, especially when you get ridiculous teams on a ridiculous map choice.
