Having a lot of fun. Just started getting into Ranked Matches and am climbing through the ranks, though I hit quite the hiccup when I wound up facing down not one, not two, but THREE Aerospray RGs on the same team. So unfair. I wish they'd put some kind of weapons balancing in. It's anniying finding yourself on an all splatroller team or facing off against multiple Aerosprays and Krakens.
Ranked matches are way to hit and miss to be fun for me. Always with teams that are spraying everywhere but the splat zone and get decimated by the charge shots. I admit I suck with snipers so I can't easily use those to combat the other tactics. Maybe once you can keep wth a team it will be fairer/more fun.
Rumor has it that there will be a Super Mario Sunshine DLC for Splatoon, with Mario as inkling costume (or maybe an actual character) and F.L.U.D.D which will be named Splac3000. I'll try to provide a pic for you in the same post.
I take that rumour with a bunch of salt. I love the idea of it though; my previous concern with F.L.U.D.D was that it would be too different compared to the other weapon types. However, there's the Paintbrush weapon to counter that worry (it's a roller that functions differently). So I'd be all for this, though I'm shaky on the idea of Mario himself being here; maybe if he was inkified a bit... Either way, it'd be best to let the new IP roam and become more known first.
Speaking of amiibo, I always it'd be cool if one could "pay" for DLC through amiibo. Like, what would normally be £5 would be free or cheaper by scanning your related amiibo.
There has been F.L.U.D.D. rumors/wishes since Splatoon was revealed. Add that fan made picture to the others. And I don't see how Mario would fit in the timeline described in the Sunken Scrolls.

The paintbrush is effectively a roller, it doesn't function differently, it only has a wider range when using it as a weapon and a smaller range when using it as a roller iirc. Something like FLUDD wouldn't fit any of the weapon categories, they'd even have to model the Inklings differently just to hold Fludd...

I might've worded that bit wrong. I mean the Paintbrush is the same roller stuff, but with different melee attacks that are unique to it (so far). FLUDD, I imagine, would be a different-looking Shooter-type weapon, if anything. So it'd in fine in terms of mechanics, but yeah; extra effort into modelling and animation would be required.

I've been watching it lately. It's mostly just ok. It's mostly one really enjoyable and odd character surrounded by ok characters you'd see in a comedy anime. It has some good stuff but is mostly just...ok. Though it does have one short story that was more emotional than most of anime, so it has that going for it.

I thought the problem was the timeline? Mario is an easy solution, he has a squid-mushroom on hand at all times.
The problem is still the timeline. I'm not that familiar with Squid Girl, but the story seems to fit very well with the current timeline and plot of Splatoon. This is according to Wikipedia: Squid Girl is a girl from the ocean who possesses squid-like tentacles for hair. She vows to invade mankind as revenge for its pollution of the ocean. Her first task is to make the Lemon Beach House snack bar, owned by the Aizawa siblings, her base of operations. However, when she accidentally breaks a hole in their wall trying to swat a mosquito, she is forced to work as a waitress to pay off the damages. Thus, Squid Girl begins her life on the surface, learning new things and encountering many curious visitors to the beach house.
Squid Girl could easily end up there in the same way as Judd did.
I am so glad I complete the story mode yesterday (and reach lvl 20 to boot), 2 of those post would of left me in shock 3 days sooner
It would be weird if Mario is that world, even if he been in much weirder time and places like with Mario is Missing. But it would make sense if the Inklings rock his style with the hat, overall, and shoes as gears.

Are we actually discussing timeline with Mario?... I mean, Zelda timeline is already overthinking things too much, but this is just absurd lol.
Fifth gen Mario was a fake while original Mario went on holiday in sunshine. There, he learned about peach's mile high club and how she had bowser jr and didn't even know for sure who the father was. Of course, the plumber was only offset by his brother in those scenes, but forgave him after the mansion events.
This of course made Mario anxious to get into space to find a new dream chick, while fake Mario went on with Toad and the gang to 1up the world in 3D. Real Mario is nurturing stars in space right now, while the next smash DLC makes two Mario's face off against each other to settle the score once and for all.
How does this not occur to you?
Wait until you see Toad's story arc. That is real grown up material.
