Yestarday, in Mahi Mahi, I had a match against 2 E Liters and 1 Splatterscope — it was a nightmare. While the Bamboozler is a great weapon, its rapid fire just wasn't enough to deal with 3 longer range chargers. When I was trying tl splat one of them, the other two were just hunting me. In the end my team won, but it was REALLY difficult.

Charger practice has been getting better for me recently. Still some losses but now I know that stick-controlling Chargers can work and I'm getting the hang of it. I've only messed around on Turf War with it but sniping can be so fun!

@Freeon-Leon: Kelp Splatterscope. I tried others but I cannot aim for the life of me without a scope. When I tried using the E-liter Scope and the regular Splatterscope, I ended up using their subs for splats; which was missing the whole point of my practicing (improving my aim).

The Kelp Splatterscope was perfectly limiting and now it's my go-to Charger.

@DreamyViridi that was my favourite set since I couldn't really use splat bombs well at first and I also liked the killer wail. I also prefer the scoped variants since they have a slightly longer range then non-scoped.
Have you tried the custom 3K? That one relies on your aim more than the regular 3K since the subs are beakons.

I would recommend motion controls if you use them for it though. One thing a lot of chargers do is snap our shots into an enemy so they won't expect it. (Aim away or near someone and then flick the Gamepad plus right stick to quickly get your laser on them and fire)

Hows it going my fell splatters.

@yokokazuo: I've yet to try the Custom 3K (I actually didn't have it, just bought it now). The E-Litres, despite the tempting range, are a little too slow charging-wise for my liking though I'll definitely give it a go at some point. I am aware that motion controls are the best way to play Chargers and I can imagine how smooth it must feel but I'm one of the people who don't like (or rather can't handle) the motion controls. I do my best to hide the sight at times though.

This is the set-up I use btw. It is working pretty well though any suggestions are welcome.

@DreamyViridi: Wow, you don't use motion controls? I can't see myself using a charger without them. But then again, my charger of choice is the Bamboozler, wich requires more movement and more shots.

@DreamyViridi Ah I see. I believe that @TheXReturns also doesn't use motion controls.

When I first tried out the 3K it felt the same to me too. However after using it for awhile, I did get used to it. Now the Splatterscope feels like it charges really fast haha.
I've seen quite a few people use damage ups with splat chargers, but it charges fast enough for me so I mainly focus on getting my special with the kelp. I only use damage ups on my 3K set since it helps a lot when I don't have time to get a full charge. With the custom I just use 2 mains and it is enough for me since it kills at a 75% charge.
I'll post a picture of my kelp and custom 3K set in a bit.

@Yokokazuo Yep. I don't use motion controls either. They just don't feel as precise to me. XD So I tend to stick to the more melee weapons, rather than chargers. Using chargers well is possible on sticks, but will require lots of practise.

A puzzle solved is its own reward.

@Freeon-Leon: How is the Bamboozler? I tried both versions but they play a little bizarrely for me. I swear at some point I got OHKO'd by a Damage-Up obsessed Inkling using one. Can they do that?

@yokokazuo: Yeah, the Splatterscope charge speed is very nice but the Damage Ups have gotten me helpful early-charged splats. Pretty much the same as your case; killing at around 75% charge. I question the people that put the damage buff on everything, I've always considered that as a bit of a waste.

@DreamyViridi: You can't ever make the Bamboozler a true ohko but if you are even slightly damaged a Bamboozler with a ton of damage up will one shot.

@TheXReturns: Added you back, thanks! I'll be adding some of you when I play next, some time tomorrow.
As for the Weekend, I'll mabye be on on Saturday, most definitely on Sunday.

Haha, yes, that's something to remember, one moment everything is looking fine, and the next... XD

I noticed something today. When holding down ZR to shoot, sometimes my weapon stops shooting, as if I released the trigger, despite doing nothing. Maybe I've played to much Splatoon, and the trigger is starting to wear out? ^^'

@DreamyViridi: If you're stuck in enemy ink, you can get OHKO'd by a Bamboozler. And I tend to play really offensively, I just have to be careful if there's an E Liter in the other team

@DreamyViridi one set I want to try to make is one that has 2 damage up mains and 6 subs since that can allow two uncharged shots from the 3K to kill. Also I think it takes around a 66% charge to kill in one shot with it.

Anyways these are my kelp and custom 3K scope sets.

I kind of like the cleats since they go with the soccer headband, but I also use shoes with special refill.

DreamyViridi

@Jazzer94: @Freeon-Leon: Ah, OK. I guess it can do 99.9, right? Those times when I thought I was fully healthy must've not been the case.

@yokokazuo: Heh, definitely a lot cleaner of a set than mine. I was considering Ink Resistance but my bias for Quick Respawn is too strong. I originally had Damage Up shoes with Quick Respawn glasses but the set I posted had an extra quick-spawning sub on the headgear. It doesn't sound like a lot but for some reason, the difference between "1 Main/1 Sub" and 1 Main/2 Subs" is rather noticeable to me.

@yokokazuo: I wouldn't run ink resist on any of the longer ranged chargers mainly because you shouldn't be in a situation where it's applicable, I always run cold blooded sometimes tenacity actually have the exact piece of gear you have.

@Jazzer94 I don't think it has helped me out much, but tried it out since it is one thing I saw someone suggest. I'll probably mainly use the blue sea slugs though. The subs I currently have on them are the same as the soccer cleats except instead I have one special duration up which isn't exactly helpful with the killer wail...
I may put on a cold blooded shirt for this set, probably sky-blue squideye for some more ink refills.

@DreamyViridi I just checked and 1 main and a sub saves 93 frames while an extra sub will save you 111 frames.

Every time I see a Bamboozler I feel happy that someone else had the time to go through the steep learning curve it has. I know this is wierd but I like to see wheb that weapon gets more love.

It's just so much fun.
