@DreamyViridi: Ranked is extremely rough sometimes often, but I feel the occasional amazing victories (aka "I can't believe we just did that XD" wins) more than make up for it.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@TheXReturns: Sure, though I've yet to beat the Sky realm... @MasterWario: True, but today is depressing. I was at A+ 42, now I'm A 60...
Couple of the matches, I was robbed of victory due to lag. The tower wouldn't move for NO reason. And the last two I had ended in disconnects. I've NEVER gotten disconnected in Splatoon. I call BS...
When it comes to ranked, harsh words may be neccessary. There are those who are insanely good, those who are lucky and those who are trolls. And all are annoying.
@DreamyViridi: Oh yeah that's the worst. Nothing warms you when you're having connection issues and nothing tells you when they've gone away too, so when you'e in the middle of a ranked sess you assume it was a glitch and just keep going, especially because you're down a match now too.
I wish you could reconnect to your game if you were having issues, like it would send you back to base if you had "unstable connection" and then allowed you to leave base when everything was stable again. Like, you can totally win Rainmaker in the last 30 secs, don't throw me out of the room just yet Nintendo!

I don't have the game (not yet anyway. Maybe in the future), but I think its bad that soooooo many things are added via updates. I mean: If the servers go down or your harddrive breaks, you are stuck with a VERY basic game! From the sounds of it, almost 80% of the game is free dlc!!
@Henmii: I really don't get your concerns and complaints. It's an online focused game,if you don't have internet then this game is not for you.if you do then all the updates are there to be downloaded and it will continue to be supported until at least January. If your hardware breaks you wont be able to play any of your games, not just Splatoon so why would that put you off?.Also the servers aren't likely to go down for several years yet so why deny yourself some of the best fun you can have in gaming now because you're worried about what might happen several years into the future? The game can be had for under 30 Euro,it's not exactly a huge investment. All I can say is,if you're interested in it,get it then kick yourself for not getting it sooner.
Gaming is going heavily digital. In the next 2-3 years you'll be hard pressed to find a game that isn't barebones or broken without patches and DLC especially considering how most devs refuse to release a finished game anymore.

There have been a couple of updates, but the content in Splatoon unlocks gradually through the servers, not through the actual downloads. The first version of the game contained many unreleased modes/maps/gear/etc that were gradually through server unlocks. That's the way the downloaded updates work as well.
Once the online servers disappear in Splatoon, the only thing left is the single player campaign. That said, I have already got my money's worth from Splatoon, and I think there might now be many Splatoon players with more that 500 playing hours. Nintendo has done a fantastic job at creating a solid online community around Splatoon. I played some random Turf War yesterday, and I'm constantly amazed how good players are now compared to when the game was released.
Is there still no local multi-player? Any hints of them adding it. I would only want the game if I could play locally against family in the same room. Any suggestions? Thanks.
