I don't understand the point of this. Pacman and Sonic need cartoons because kids don't play those games - they are franchises that already hit their peak. Nintendo characters are too big to need a cartoon to remind people who they are. Kids know who Mario is.
I like the idea of Nintendo characters taking the Marvel approach to cartoons. Have individual cartoons for each of the characters to build them up and then every couple of years throw them together in a Smash bros cartoon so they can team up to take down a big bad guy. It would probably never work, but still a fun thought nonetheless.
Question: if they did make cartoons how do you think they should distribute them? Through traditional channels like Cartoon Network and Disney, through streaming services like Netflix or Hulu, or through some other means? Also who should they team up with to make the animation?
Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

Probably Cartoon Network since Pokemon and all.
If I had to choose 3 Nintendo franchises to get cartoon tie-ins it would be Kid Icarus, Star Fox and Metroid. I'm ruling out Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong since they had cartoon shows in the past.
I'd love a Smash Bros. anime made by the people who made the Palutena reveal trailer.

A Legend of Zelda show should be an anime, and should be done by Shaft. The company that made Modoka Magica and did the Palutena newcomer cutscene. If not that then Bones, who's done Full Metal Alchemist and Soul Eater.
