C'mon historical Pokemon game. Set way back in the edo time period where pokeballs weren't invented and they traveled with you in a party type setting and you camped out with them, hunted for food etc etc.... No team This or that, more of a ancient pokemon evil that came out and threatened both humans and pokemon.... WOO. That's what I want.

I'm expecting either Z or X2/Y2. I'm hoping for the latter, since X2/Y2 would be completely new compared to Z where it'd be nothing more than a definitive version of X and Y. I think remakes of Fire Red and Leaf Green would also be nice. Even though a remake of a remake wouldn't make sense, Kanto is the only region that cannot currently be played on a 3DS (Not counting HGSS because those were Johto games technically). However, I don't see that happening right away, possibly for Red and Blue's 20th Anniversary though. Which is only a couple of years off.
It's not gonna be a pokemon game. Game Freak never hypes up the announcements of pokemon games like this, they just announce them out of nowhere.
Pokemon X/Y says hi. It had an entire Direct for it.
And Game Freak never plugged that direct like this. They only ever said general stuff like "we wanna do something different with pokemon" yadda yadda. Generic stuff they could say at any point during a generation. They never said anything like "we're so excited for this game that's gonna be announced in an upcoming direct!" The announcement of the direct was pretty random too.
All GameFreak has ever done since inception is Pokemon, with some niche exceptions.
