They have a great relationship considering capcom made 2 zelda games for them- and now the inclusion of megaman in supersmashbros. I believe a 2nd party relationship maybe even an exclusive deal is inevitable
I don't see how this would fix very much. Nintendo doesn't make any new F-Zero, StarFox, or Metroid games, plus more, I doubt they would do much with Mega Man either.
Capcom has too many gold mines for it to be worth it. Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Mega Man are way too expensive franchises. It would take quite a while for it to be profitable. Partnerships are much easier and less expensive for both companies.
But I do wish they can make another Top-Down Zelda for them.

with the exception of street fighter and resident evil (up until recently)
The majority of their success has been on nintendo platforms
Mega Man and Monster Hunter have been pretty big hits on Nintendo's consoles so far, so it might make sense to do it. Now, I doubt it would be worth buying out all of Capcom for just a couple of IPs.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
Sega would be a better fit and and have far more franchises that can be revived and fits into different genres.
I'd probably agree but
1. Some of Capcom's higher ups are clearly completely awful at their jobs and this is a good excuse to get rid of them
2. Sega revivals are seemingly cursed (see: Golden Axe, Samba De Amigo, arguably Nights, that time they decided to call a new game just "Sonic the Hedgehog")
But those were made by a crappy SEGA. I would hope with a more guided hand they could pull out some good stuff.
Virtua Fighter 6- Being the 2nd next gen fighter the game could sale well.
Single Player Phantasy Star- Would like to see the space opera story with the anime art style.
A burning Rangers reboot by the Yakuza/Binary Domain guys.
Altered beast 3D Platformer
I guess Atlus is another possible purchase if Index goes down.

Both of those franchises would be popular on Non nintendo consoles as well. (well expect megaman dude is pac-man levels of irrelevant)
I mean the PSP got pretty popular on the back of Monster Hunter. To be completely honest if the series would have went to Vita instead of 3DS both consoles would have been switched to a certain degree.
Also don't forget the reason Monster Hunter is on Nintendo Platforms is mostly because Capcom is lazy as hell and didn't want to spend the money more powerful systems. Now with Dragon's Dogma/Deep Down being a success I doubt we see Monster Hunter on more competent hardware.
I much rather see the series on Sony platforms than Nintendos.

That sounds ....offf
You sure its not because Monster Hunter in Japan is Huge, however its a huge as a portable game rather then a console game snd Nintendo clearly wins in the handheld department by several miles?
@Warruz Of course not. Monster Hunter sells systems, regardless of quality. Capcom really is just trying to avoid the higher development costs of making a Vita game. Shame, since it alone would probably sell the console millions, and it really is better suited for it. Even Capcom admitted that.
Monster Hunter Tri was originally in development for the Wii but Capcom decided to cheap out and make the game for the Wii due to development costs. In the long run I'd rather see the game being made for the PS4 where it would be easier to Downport to the Vita instead of uporting from the 3DS.
Only real hope now is Dragon's Dogma 2/Deep Down being put on Vita, or the eventual soul Sacrifice sequel being on PS4.

It wouldn't be in Nintendo's best interests to buy out Capcom. I say this because Capcom is a publisher first and foremost. Nintendo has plenty of publishing resources as is, so why do it?
Best thread ever

to take control over lost (Mega Man Ghost n Goblins) and struggling IPs (Resident Evil, Street Fighter)
Good point though they are a big publisher. They are however struggling financially. Nintendo would do better with some exclusive agreements. Just give us Mega Man!!
I honestly don't think going for a struggling company would be that good for Nintendo right now. :/
Index is struggling not necessarily Atlus. If nintendo were to buy them the only problems I could see is Nintendo killing off Atlus non Etrian Odyssey and Shin Megami Tensi based products.
Personally I just want nintendo to invest more in RPGS.
