Honestly, I want them to build on Super Mario 64 in the sense that they give us big levels to play around in, and tons of ways to approach each star.

Super Mario 64 remains my top 3D Mario for that reason, it felt so ambitious in how it approached gameplay for the Mario series. Not to mention, levels felt like more then just course to run through. They felt like virtual playgrounds full of stuff to do and discover. The 3D Mario games since have been fun, but they lacked the magic that make 64 so awesome and groundbreaking back in the day.

Forget a sequel to Sunshine or Galaxy. I want the true sequel to Super Mario 64, one that takes its ideas but builds on them with the power of the Wii U helping make it possible.

Problem is, they already made a sequel to Super Mario 64. It's called Banjo Kazooie.

But it was on the Nintendo 64, which means it ran on the same hardware that Super Mario 64 did.

I want to see what could be done with that concept on much more powerful hardware. Super Mario 64's desgin idelogy combined with the power of the Wii U would create an amazing game.

Take a Super Mario 64 course but make it bigger by being empowered by the hardware of the Wii U.

That's what I want to see,.

I agree, but I would be worried a platformer like this would just not work well if the game was too large.
