I just put them back on. I didn't think it was cool that I hit the 'Rate this level' stars on my own levels and couldn't undo it, so I reloaded the codes. I won't hit them again, lol.
Thanks! I played through all of your courses a while back. You have a lot of really neat ideas. I'll check out your new ones soon.
@AdamLikesNintend: (Sorry for the delay in responding. I was away from my computer all Halloween weekend) Yep, TNE|SJ is me. You've been playing the right ones. Thank you for checking out mine and for the compliments! I spent a little bit shaking all the pieces and suddenly saw that you could curve the track pieces two different ways. Comes in very handy.
Some of my favorite designers here would have to be: you, @mrichston@DanoLefourbe@MasterWario@Freeon-Leon@OorWullie@ChelsAngel@eXtremeHippo@Tamara@ajmayhew
There are many other extremely talented designers on this forum, but those are the ones that I can list off the top of my head.
Sorry for the even more delayed response. At first I didn't know what to do with that info but then I realized I can browse the course maker profiles on here by NL screen name so I'm going to favorite all of these folks today. Thanks for the suggestions! For anyone who's interested, most of these people can be found on page two if you go to the SMM App on here and click on Makers.
Do you believe all old levels need edited to include checkpoints? What about easy levels? Short levels? Or is it just long levels where people would be frustrated going back to the beginning?
It's all about the length in my opinion. A good majority of my courses are entirely too long so I am adding checkpoints to them. There are many levels that are too short to warrant a checkpoint even if they are difficult and many that need checkpoints because of their length even if they are easy (like my SMB Watch for Shooting Stars course).
@mrichston: Okay, I have to ask. And I'm asking seriously. It seems people spend a lot of time trying to find ways to cheat courses when it would be faster to just play and experience them.
Why is that?
And I've heard before that "You can't expect people to play your levels the way they are intended." but there has to be a better reason than that.
And I'm not singling you out, at all. I appreciate you letting me know the places you've found. It's just something I've been curious about.
I know this wasn't directed at me but I can say that it's fun to find short cuts. I try to close them all off in my courses but sometimes when one seems unlikely for people to find and/or difficult to do, I actually enhance it and make it intentional. To again reference my SMB Watch for Shooting Stars (easy) course, I noticed people try a couple of things I didn't anticipate while testing it and I decided to make them into fairly tricky shortcuts. They are short but considerably more difficult than the rest of the course and they can probably cut the total thing in half if you use them both. One is not too difficult to find and I noticed several people died attempting it despite the easier option.
Has anybody noticed that when you are playing your own levels on coursebot, you can play them world at a time and arrange so that they would be a world. You get 3 lives and your coin count actually now matters as it gives you lives straight away. I really wish they would implement this system to online so that the creators could attach levels to a cohesive world and one larger entity.
I noticed that and I also noticed that your courses are totally set up for that which is really cool. People can at least download them into coursebot and set it up like that if they want. And for what it's worth, your naming scheme (1-1, 1-2, etc...) was pretty clear to me so I think most people can tell what you're going for.
How can I post my level here? I mean, like some people have - with the picture and all from the SMM database?
Not sure if anyone responded to this yet. First you add your courses here: https://www.nintendolife.com/super-mario-maker
When you add the URL for the course, go to the Miiverse page for that course and copy and paste the address and it should add the picture automatically. Using a link for a comment on the course will not work. Then when you post on the forum, go to the page for your course on here and copy and paste that link. Do not use the embed code, I don't know why but it doesn't work. Also make sure to leave a line of space between each link.
So, probably a silly question, but what are the characters in costume slots 105 to 110? Ones whose event levels haven't been added yet, like that Famitsu mascot?
I finaly defeated the 4 NWC courses! The reward (did'nt know I would get any) was nice too It was a guarantee to get thos weird mushrooms you get rare times that makes skinny)
Ok it seems if you use the embed option once, it glitches the link completely until you delete and reupload. Here's my levels including a few I did back in September:
Enjoy and please give feedback on both the course and whether the difficulty should be labelled higher/lower.
@Megumi: Haha, we're on the same boat. I hope Nintendo features my ice castle level in christmas...
I just want to see Alex or PBG rage over my Advanced Remix. TwT
I would say the same about Markiplier, but afraid he may end up breaking the GamePad/Pro, lol.
Also attempting to get Jack to play one of my levels but he kinda stopped playing the game...so, I dunno. :c
