I feel really lucky right now. I managed to get the Super Horn at the exact moment the Blue Shell was about to hit me.

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

200cc is hilarious cause everyone can't keep it straight haha
Um yeah kinda agree that Twisted Mansion must be one of the hardest cause some steep turns, especially the last tiny bit after the glider launch, everyone slams into that railing LOL

What's easiest and hardest track on 200cc?

Twisted Mansion isn't so difficult if you take the bottom staircase. Wario's Stadium DS has the worst difficulty for me personally.

The high ranked usually start really fast, collect all the coins at the beginning and gets a head start by that. And if they do and get a protective shell/banana, they will expand their lead since everyone else will be hitting each other. I have also won a couple of races by expanding my lead far enough from the main group of people.

If items are ruining it for you, try running custom online without items.

The defensive racing isn't something I'm disputing. I've done it and seen it a million times, where you get lucky and get way ahead. But usually just a couple times, not race after race for all eternity. Even if they get blue shelled or lightning'd over a gorge, they're seemingly perpetually ahead of everyone. Like they're playing 200cc but everyone else is on 150.

There's no rocket science here. I've occasionally beaten 70,000+ VR players, although it doesn't happen often. There's a risk vs. reward regarding the choice of gear and driver, and there are techniques such as fire hopping to use. Playing safe with the vehicle choices will not even beat the Mute City time trial. Analyze what the winners use and how they play. Everything is recorded in MKTV.

The only "cheating" I've seen is people with buggy connections which pops in and out at random places, and they win just because noone else can hit them with things.

Keep in mind that a VR below 10,000 is a "casual" VR now, at times when there are people who have invested 1,000 hours playing time in MK8 or reached the max VR of 99,999.

You know there are claims of hacking and whatnot. Also fire hooping has been patched, if you think it's still happening you're a moron. People still try to do it and it's not working, they're going the same speed as everyone else is who's not pressing ZR over and over. Also copying someones kart and driving doesn't really work, any kart can be a loser or a winner. You're obviously fighting this thread because all these people came forth and are having this same issue. What the heck are you talking about, "casual" is not 10k, I've invested many hours and so have many people I know and the threshold is probably at about 20k. If you're above 50k you're probably cheating somehow.

I have a VR of under 4000, but above 3500 (don't know the exact number) and I think I'm pretty good at it

I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

1000 hours is almost 42 days. Time for your friend to put down the gamepad.

I have about 700 hours and that's taking into consideration that I didn't play a large amount of it in July, December and January. If it wasn't for Hyrule Warriors (that DLC adds so much!) I definitely would have over 1000 hours.

The game has been out for a year now. What's the problem with spending 2-3 hours a day on Mario Kart 8? I have a lot of friends who watch a movie everyday on the evening. Considering a lot of movies are 120+ mins long, I don't see the problem. It's just another form of entertainment .... Anyway, 200 CC is a really smart addition. It makes you replay the entire game again.

200cc is great, my only complaint is that some routes are now virtually unplayable like the top staircase in Twisted Mansion.

Not much to say here. I like Nintendo. That's about it.

Yeah, 200cc basically forces you to stay on the main track, but that's enough of a challenge in itself. To me, it feels like a purer experience. No shortcuts, no tricks, just skill. It's amazing.

best of all and most amazingly: it's free! Plenty of companies would charge an arm and a leg for less.

I've played it a fair bit, but mostly offline, so I don't have the highest VR

200cc is absolutely crazy. I love it and I hope it's here to stay for future iterations in the franchise.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

200cc is too crazy to understand. It feels like they just threw it in for no reason. There's nothing about this mode that does anything for the game. You go faster and it's a frenzy. Woohoo? Luckily you are not forced to play it and clearly this will not be the favorite mode to participate in.

I'm also not a fan of 200cc. I really don't have any interest in playing it. The game is chaotic enough as it is in 150cc.

I would have rather they did something to patch the battle mode. Baby Park seems like a good track for battle mode but overall, I'm happy with Mario Kart 8 and I'll be playing it for a long time.
