Well, it's offical. Now there's only two true speeds.

They're saying you're gonna have to be good on the breaks, so that is kind of excited for me! Strangely enough, the whole MK8 bit was one of my favorite parts of the Direct!

Can anyone tell if there are any pile of leaves on other courses?
The Autumn version of the Animal Crossing course got it.

I can't imagine they implement that "feature" just for one course?
Maple Treeway retro course incoming?

Yea, a little far fetched... But IF... I said it first!

Too bad they didn't reveal any other tracks or the other new karts. I guess that will have to come in regular news over the next couple of weeks.

I actually don't mind that they didn't spoil all the tracks like they did last time. It would be nice if they kept some of them as a surprise.

If 200cc is supposed to make me feel better about F-Zero being dead, it's not working.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I think we'll get Maple Treeway, since they already have assets for autum leaves.

@BlueBlurIxM, beat me to it.

Ha!
As long as they remove those giant Wiggler I'll be fine with it I guess.
Wasn't a big fan of it in MK Wii.
But MK8 made every retro course more playable than before(like Wario's Gold Mine..Originally very hectic).. Maybe it can change my mind.

200 CC is hype, that's gonna be so awesome!

Well I'm dreaming with a Mega Man track.

I'm really excited for 200cc! I was getting to that point in Mario Kart where getting better meant trying to be prefect (e.g. never hit edges ever, knowing tracks inside and out), which is really boring. Now it'll be difficult while also being interesting!

Also those jumps you can do...lolololol I'm excited!

I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke!

If they have gone through the trouble of arranging and recording 4 different pieces of live music just for the Animal Crossing track in the DLC, why would it not be possible to only have the asset with the leaves at one place in the DLC?

I wish the Amiibos did something cooler than just new racing suits for the Miis. I have no interest in using the Mii when I can use cool Mario World characters instead.

The villager looks dumb and honestly doesn't look that different than the Miis. I don't see why he deserves to be in the game. I guess Isabelle looks cool but Dry Bowser is probably the only cool DLC character this season.

I'm more excited for the new tracks but it looks like they're all going to be Animal crossing but I hope that's not the case. I want to see something from the Mario universe.

What makes you think it'll all be Animal Crossing tracks? I would've thought if anything it would work like Excitebike Arena but this time instead of randomising the track, it'll be randomising the season. The code could work along the lines of assigning a random integer in the interval [0,4] and having a few "if else" statements saying which season to pick based on the output (it's bound to be more complex but that's an easy way I can think of).

Honestly, I thought this myself after posting. lol^^
But on the other hand music is a much bigger part of the game. Putting more atmosphere in to the game is far more important. I don't see this little and old feature for that important that they put that much effort into programming. Because as small as that asset may be it still can cause problems such as bugs for example. It wasn't part of the main game, so..
Adding music is more risk-free than programming.

I know there are more flaws in this argument, but this just a quick post and not important anyway.

I can't wait to try out 200cc... I don't even know how I'll go back to 150cc after playing 200cc...

Your description is correct. The Animal Crossing track is 1 of the 8 tracks and the season changes each time you run the course. That's how it was described in the Nintendo Direct. The also said that more tracks will be revealed gradually until the DLC2 release.

I like the speed comparison. It's almost as if they built the tracks with the higher cc mode in mind already, with the shortcuts and all in place.

With the release of Mute City, and now adding 200 cc, is it possible that Nintendo is trying to cater to F-zero fans without having to release a new F-zero title?
