I'm probably late on this, but I just heard about the upcoming update to Mario Kart 8! And the Mercedes Benz DLC is apparently free!

Pretty cool to know that they've heard the complaints and will be fixing up a lot of the things that have been pissing most of us off. Like the lack of map on the main screen or the default option after a race being MKTV instead of Next Race. And supposedly they're making online more stable. Can't wait for this update!

If anyone is interested in further competitiveness, there is a MK8 World Cup happening soon! It's a 12-team, group + double-elim tournament, and teams from all over the world are playing.
It starts this saturday (if I'm not mistaken) more details are over at http://mkboards.com/forums/forums/world-cup.194/ and matches will be commentated on this channel http://www.twitch.tv/mkboards

Shine Sprite Cup (or Sprite Cup, please no Sprite jokes)

Spiny Shell Cup (or Blue Shell Cup)

EDIT: Hmmm...there seem to be a couple flaws in the Shine Sprite image. I wonder what happened there.

I hope the DLC is true! I'm kind of bored of pretty much the only races being played online being Mario Kart Stadium, Mario Circuit, Sunshine Airport, Mount Wario, Cloudtop Cruise and GBA Mario Circuit

Because tvs are layed out horizontally and so is, know, your actual vision. Why would you want to see more of the sky and ground when you could see more of the the track and the upcoming corners? Vertical is absolutely absurd for all of gaming. It's just counter-intuitive.
