That's a lot sooner then I would've thought. They really must want to get the hype train going into overdrive! Hopefully NL has theirs up then. I know of a few that have had it for at least 10 days!

Do you think the game will sell like crazy amount of copies?

Mario Kart Wii sold unbelievable numbers and is still usually in the top 100 in Amazon best sellers, and mentioned specifically in the financials as still an annual more than million seller.

Mario Kart 8 is currently the top selling game in Amazon behind some PSN cards. It's been there for a while. Will it be really huge? I guess it can't sell more than 7 million copies because of the hardware but maybe in the long run it can achieve 15-20 million.

Has anyone noticed that they have only showed 3 ATVs? Just seems like a small amount compared to bikes and karts.

Hmm, not sure tbh. In the UK it sits at third I think behind watchdog's. Europe really is a dire area for the Wii u ATM, so hopefully Mk8 can do a MKwii in UK and sell some systems.

It should be the #1 seller by the end of CHRISTmas this year for the system. Hopefully that means 10 million copies sold!

Heh, It's pretty likely, The mario kart name alone outta get things going at least. A digital promotion whitch gets you a free game, and a bundle which helped the wii previously. If they can get the word out as much as possible then it's a done deal. Could be a bit easy to do that last one since the wiiU just got outta the negative zone of the profit making. (in terms of making the console of course)

Look at what it said in an official PR for the Gamestop event: "Mario Kart 8 is the first entry in the long-running and much-loved Mario Kart franchise on Wii U." O_o....First...Entry?

... Because there hasn't been a prior release of Mario Kart for Wii U. Thus, this is the first entry whether or not there is another. I think you might be reading too much into it.

King Koopa is right. There won't likely be another entry in the series on the Wii U. It's just that this /is/ the first one.

So, just saw a commercial for MK8 on Cartoon Network! I think it's the first Nintendo commercial I've seen since Christmas.

I seen quite a few tropical freeze commercials plus still see one here and there.

While the choice of characters seemed a bit strange at first, I'm actually a chance to use both Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach here and there, I've grown pretty fond of them both (I usually use Peach, Rosalina's my second choice).
As far as all the characters which didn't make the cut this time around, I was never going to use any of them anyway.
