I just now bought a Wii U after months of internal debate. My biggest problem was just a lack of money. I found a way I believe I can pay for it, though I am in fear of what happens when the wife gets home and learns of what I've done, hahaha. Anyway, I was just really excited and wanted to share, the anticipation of getting it in the mail is already killing me!!!! I'm thrilled to join the Wii U family!!!

You wouldn't have to wait, there are quite a few great games, and MH3U is an endless time consumer. If you launch WiiU at your home now, you'll get the best launch window ever.
I'm an early buyer and I'm still happy I did. ZombiU, Lego City, Ninja Gaiden, MH3U, Resident Evil Revelations, TTT2, Skylanders... There's enough great third party games along the great first party and eshop ones to keep me entertained, they're dropping in price now, and I still have over a hundred Wii games so no rest for my WiiU
Summing this up, I have no idea how people can say 'it has no games'. Sure, they don't overload us with new quality releases every week, but we're just spoiled brats who seem to have forgotten most other system launches up until today... Let the upcoming MicroSony releases be a reminder, hopefully... If it gets through a fanboy's thick skull. And if there's a brain capable of handling the information should it get through.
Enjoy it; it's a great multimedia platform while waiting for the games.
Meanwhile, I'm using the darn thing to watch Sherlock and catch up on the Wii's fantastic library of games (since I never owned an original Wii ).
One could argue that Sherlock is better than the Wii U's current library!
Anyway, I feel the exact same way as the OP. I ordered the ZombiU bundle two days ago and it's going to arrive in the mail any minute now. I'm just posting on the forums to pass the time until it comes!

That's great to hear. You know, I feel as if usually on NL its just discussion and disappointment, but I'm glad to see that happy and funny talks are starting to become more popular, especially this.
