Yeah, I agree with that. It's very motivational, makes you just want to run through a horde of enemies slashing like crazy with a sword.

IIRC Tecmo said they were hoping for >1M worldwide, so 70K in Japan alone seems very positive

Um that's not great either. This needs to sell on the Zelda name alone as the DW games don't sell as well over here unless I'm wrong. I thought all the big sales came from Japan? That's actually pretty bad imo. I would've expected well over 100k.

Super Mario 3D World didn't even sell over 100k copies in the first week in Japan, it will consistently sale well over the coming weeks though and it'll be getting future boosts every time a new DLC comes.

Then you are expecting too much not many Wii U games have broke 100k with first week sales MK8 is a big exception 69,090 is not bad could be better but definitely not bad.

I think it will.

I, for one, am buying is solely because it's Zelda. If it would have been a normal DW game I wouldn't have cared about it in the slightest. Zelda fans are definitely going to buy this over here.

70k is pretty nothing for the main market for DW titles....
