I'm thinking of getting a backup Wii U in case mine dies someday. I'll just leave it stored until it's needed. They're only to going to get more expensive. Do you have any backups, for any handhelds or consoles?
I don't intentionally buy back ups but I do have 3 WiiU, a wii (back up to gc), 5 3ds family systems as well as a vita tv (to serve as a back up to my vita), so the chips kinda fell that way.

I got a red Wii (the one made for Mario's 25th anniversary) from my local retro game store a couple years ago, which has actually served me well in regards to GameCube games. My platinum GameCube can't read the game discs that well anymore, so I use the red Wii for them now.
@Gryffin The regular 2DS. To the point where, when I bought a New 3DS and moved my account to it (it's a one-way transfer when going from normal to new), I... Created another account on the 2DS to keep using it. I even bought a few of my favorite digital games again on it.
Even now, I feel much more at home on the regular 2DS.
So, yes I bought one of each, so I have a replacement for both accounts.

Glad to hear that. I've definitely been leaning towards the original 2DS for my first of the family. I've looked at grips too, for comfort. How do you find the comfort of the 2DS? Have you tried any grips?
@MarioLover92 That's a really good idea. I've been wanting to get one of the HDMI converters for my GameCube, but it seems like there are lots of good options for Wii too. I very much miss playing my GameCube.
@Gryffin I have a grip-like accessory I use with my current 2DS XL, which does help a lot when using that one, since normally you don't have a lot of space to hold on to the console, it's a bit too compact. With the regular 2DS, I've never really used anything like that.
Btw, I would appreciate if you could limit the number of consecutive comments you make, try to reply to all the people in a single comment, it keeps the forums looking nicer.
Intentionally, I bought myself an extra GameCube when I found a pre-owned one for cheap. Thankfully in good shape too. Mostly bought it in case I run into the dreaded permanent "disc read error."
I also have several GBAs, I have an original model GBA (one that uses AAA batteries), a side-lit GBA SP, the newer backlit GBA SP (AGS-101 model). I did buy another original model GBA for cheap, since AAA batteries are always available.

@Eel I did exactly the same 🤣. I started with the regular 2DS, upgraded to a regular XL (didn’t like it, 3D wasn’t worth the upgrade, awkward to hold and the screen wasn’t as sharp) and then moved onto the new regular 3DS, which is a great little machine. However, the old 2DS is by far my favourite and still gets regular use today (mainly from my kids). I decide to download a few key ‘classic’ games to have it as a retro console.
